Dispatches from the Drawing Board

  • This cartoon is from this weekends Chicago Tribune. The Blackhawks are raising ticket prices, which , of course, is never very popular.
  • Kentucky vs. Kansas should be great fun. I’m rooting for the little bird!
  • Looking forward to a more creative week. I spent last week teaching for Art Reach, kids from age 5 to 14. It takes me out of the “zone” if you will and makes it a little more of a challenge to just “chill” and draw funny pictures.
  • So give me your predictions on tomorrow nights big grand finale!

  1. It feels like that’s the case with Avalanche tickets as well. Nice cartoon.

And the result is Tulo 0, Ubaldo 5 (game suspension). Oh, not that game ha? 🙂 I can’t wait till opening day…

  2. With the cost of everything else going up, it isn’t surprising to see the Chi-Hawks raise theirs, too. I guess it is a sign of the times that we live in – and the increased expenses in running a business. Darn P&L reports. Gotta keep the shareholders happy. Sadly, it is at the expense of the fans.

I saw this evening that the MN Wild beat the Chicago Blackhawks in a shut out, 5-4. Leave it to the Wild to win their last three games. They’ve had a tough season.

I’m picking the Jayhawks to win tomorrow night. For the ladies championship on Tuesday night, Baylor is going to be tough to beat. (The men proved that against our Buffs a few weeks ago. The Lady Bears are just as formidable.) That being said, I’m rooting for the underdog, and going with the Lady Irish to win. 🙂

I hope your time with the kids at Art Reach was a great experience for you, Drew! It is always good to spend time with children – especially in such a creative environment. They keep us young! 🙂

  3. The Blackhawks are at 105% capacity at every game this season, and have a waiting list. I’d raise prices, too.

  4. Good Morning from Omaha,

A lot of my family went to school at the University of Missouri and are decidedly anti Jay hawk. The whole border war, red leg , raid missouri thing from around the civil war is still alive and well.

That being said, I think Kentucky is going to be tough to beat. Kansas has shown the ability to wear down the other team in the second half of the game but UK has too many good to great players up and down the bench to let that happen. I read where Kentucky played 8 guys during the entire game against louisville and that Kansas only played 7 in their win against Ohio State.

I think Kentucky can take it all tonight.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  5. Is there yet another game! Will it never end? KU in two. What, they only play one for the championship? Sure seems like more…….Baseball can’t start soon enough for me.
