Rockies Season Leaves us hanging

Uncategorized

Rats! All dressed up and no place to go. That’s where the Rockies season left all of us I think. It seemed for awhile that they were going to make a run for it but in the end just ran out of gas at the finish line. It was a simple case of too little too late. That said, it was another great ride wasn’t it?

  1. The truth hurts the Rockies just weren’t good enough. On the flip side, I know you’re a typical Bronco-homer, but how about a Blanda tribute cartoon. I have every one of your tribute cartoons and I was really disappointed to not see a tribute cartoon on a truly unique player.

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

You guys are so lucky. The Rox were in the hunt until the other day. The Kansas City slayoR are out of most race in seasons in May. They spend the summer and early fall playing out the games they have scheduled. Each player plays for himself and a chance to get out of KC.

They put almost a quarter of a billion dollars into renovating the stadium when that money should have been used to keep the good players in KC.

There are so many players who started in KC and have thrived in the bigger markets and gotten their rings.

OH well there is always next year… although the rebuilding plan they are currently using is aimed for them to be good and contenders in 2012 or 13- I am NOT kidding! At least one more year of BAD baseball is promised.

Just how stupid are the fans in KC when they know they are backing a loser and still on average 14,000 people show up game in and game out.

I was hoping the Rockies would put another miracle together this year, but it was fun to watch them battle. At least there was a reason to watch.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Dear Mr. Litton,

That cartoon pretty much sums up my personal feelings about the Rockies this year.

I read that Todd Helton is indeed coming back next season. On one hand I am happy because he’s always been a class act just like the man he replaced all those years ago (Gallaraga), yet at the same time I’m concerned because of his back problems.

One thing the Rockies have to stop doing is dig themselves into the holes in the standings. We can’t keep trying to pull our backsides out of the fire with September miracles. After all there is a reason why miracles are so special and why the happen so rarely. They have to come out of the gate strong, stay strong, and finish strong.

Well until your next wonderful cartoon.

    All the best

  4. Well, on the bright side our cheap a$$ ownership made a crap ton more money this year with attendance over 2.875 million.
