This cartoon was drawn right after the Colorado Avalanche captured its first Stanley Cup and a year before John Elway would hoist his first Lombardi Trophy. I had the idea a few weeks before the Avalanche clinched the championship which absolutely NEVER happens. I could hardly wait to draw it for publication. One of the prints hangs on Joe Sakic’s wall.
