Replacement Refs
IMPORTANT NOTE: I’ll be back drawing Broncos cartoons for 9News KUSA TV Denver starting with Monday’s 5p.m. broadcast! Check them out there and here every week through out the season! As we open yet another fantastic season of football let us pause for a moment and consider this. A multi-billion dollar mega business is entrusting it’s reputation to guys who normally referee high school football games. This is so wrong on so many levels it really defies explantation. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the decisions that company CEO’s make in the name of saving the almighty profit in their own pockets ant those of the their shareholders. My favorite one is Starbucks. Try ordering any other kind of coffee than the one they are currently brewing at the time and see what happens. Lately its been all Pike Place or whatever they call it. Far be it to offer the Anniversary Blend or a variety when people ask for it. After all, it is a coffee place. Why offer more than one kind of coffee especially since most people order the venti double pump multi- mocha lite whipped whatever? But seriously. It’s a coffee place. Try actually offering more than one kind of coffee. It bugs the heck out of me. And don’t even get me started with rude baristas. That’s a whole other story altogether. Decisions made that can adversely affect the reputation of a company are NEVER a good thing. Hard to believe the NFL doesn’t see that. Or Starbucks for that matter. But again, it’s all about the money.
