The tale of Two Halves: And two toons!

The incredible Broncos Monday night comeback is historic in so many ways. Mostly I think it could be a turning point in their season. It was indeed the tale of two halves. And so it was with my cartoons. The first one I did for 9News was this one:

I knew though from my experience with 9News and creating for TV that the image might be too busy for them. So I redrew a new one shortly before air time to get it on the Tuesday night broadcast. Which one do you like the most? I kinda favor the FrankenManning one. I mean, Elway and Marty Feldman in the same cartoon? Now that’s FUN!

  1. Dear Drew,

I agree the Frankenstein cartoon was the better of the two. I wish I could say I saw the 2nd half comeback but I didn’t. When I turned off the T.V. (at the dialysis clinic) it was S.D. 24, Denver 0. Ironicly one of the other patients said,”We’ve got San Diego where we want them” (seriously). Besides the dialysis wore me out so fast I almost didn’t make the drive home awake. I went right to bed as soon as I got in.

I’d feel a lot better about the Bronco’s if they weren’t so bad in the first half of each game. That is a lousy way to keep trying to win games.

    All the best

    Louis

P.S. I loved Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein. Especially when he correct Gene Wilder calling himself Eye-gore instead of Igor

  2. I’m a little worried about myself because I think I enjoyed Rivers’ self-destruction aspect of the game more than anything else. More Schadenfreude than anything else. It is possible my dislike for Rivers exceeds my love for the Broncos.

  3. I enjoyed watching Rivers self destruct as well! No way your dislike exceeds, but he is so easy to dislike, he is such a punk. You can just predict that “What me?!” look every game from him. Is it just me or is that whole team about getting their opponents steamed and doing stupid things for penalties? Got to learn to let that stuff go, seems that’s how they think they move the ball. Maybe that’s because they can’t rely on ole Phillip…..What a game! If they can stop digging huge holes in the first half, wow, they look good. Too bad we have to wait so long for the next game!

  4. Oh, and Drew, love the Young Frankenstein reference, that is definitely the better of the two. The brain in Igor’s hands, love it! That must have been fun to draw!
