The BCS: It’s Lonely at the Top

Being number One has become dangerous these days. Sitting atop the BCS poll just ain’t what it used to be. Every team that has risen to number One in the poll during the last three weeks has lost after gaining the distinction. It’s not as bad as the Sports Illustrated cover jinx but it’s close.
Of course for our teams here in Colorado, it’s a problem we don’t have to worry about.

Good Morning from Omaha,
who wants to be #1 now? the BCS computer does not play the game, it only runs the numbers.
Boise St. should be number 1. Yes there are other undefeated teams. I might also give a nod to
TCU, who has a very good team and has for the last 4 years or so.
the parity in college football has come from the limits on scholarships and walkons.
There are good players even great players, to be found everywhere. and the coaches have
gotten better and better. Gotta love college football.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

Der Mr. Litton,
I’m beginning to think that the #1’s going down is karma. That Boise State or TCU belongs in the national title game and until they get into the top 2 teams above them will be in for a rough period of time.
all the best

Yes, all the Duck fans who are complaining about #2 should count their lucky stars. Besides they haven’t beaten USC or Oregon State yet this year. I would love to see a Oregon Duck/Boise State national championship. Although a TCU/Boise State would truly be delicious. Wouldn’t that just turn the world upside down. As always, excellent work, Drew!
Sherri,
If we had a playoff system we might have a TCU-Boise St. National Championship game.
We know that would be a disaster, the only tv viewers are on the east coast.
