The NFL: Sex, Sex, Sex

You didn’t think I’d completely ignore this Brett Favre story did ya? I’m sure he’s having serious second thoughts about coming out of retirement. Oh. That’s right. He did. It didn’t seem to help. These days the NFL really comes with an R rating.

The Favre thing is worse than the Tiger Woods deal and almost as bad as the Ben Roethlisberger incident. No I’m condoning their behavior. But this allegation against Favre, if it’s true, reminds me a lot of the Lance Rentzel story back in the 70’s. I’m not going to go into the details of that (it’s on the internet I’m sure) but this Favre fiasco certainly seems like deja vu. In any case, it might be best to keep the kiddos away from watching football for awhile. You just never know what might happen.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

new technology, old crimes. you mentioned lance rentzle, I had forgotten about his story. the vast majority of the players in the NFL are not like the ones that get the headlines. I would imagine that the number of incidents are the about the same in the NFL as in the population in general.

You would think that a 38-39 year old would know better. if he is one of those :”good ol’ boy” suffering from “peter” pan syndrome who has never been expected to grow up maybe this will be his wake up call.

There is or was some speculation on ESPN that Brett might not finish the season- his ankle is still hurting, his shoulder is fouled up and hurts and now this- the only reason he stays will because his wife will scalp him if he comes home. and deservedly so. OH and the vikings schedule just gets tougher from here on out.

strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. So your comparing Favre hitting on a playboy model with a grown man flashing his genitalia to little children???? Really? Am I the only one who thinks that Brett is not the only professional athlete who has ever cheated on his wife. Show me a story of an athlete who hasn’t been unfaithful and then I’ll be shocked.

  4. Kevin, He wasn’t hitting on her. He’s accused of sending text messages with naked pictures of himself to a woman who hadn’t shown interest in a relationship. That’s not hitting on someone, that’s harassment and beyond.

  5. At no time in this story has it been said that the female in question “showed no interest” in a relationship. If people want to pile on Favre for being an adulterer fine, but until she comes out and says Farve was harassing her and she wanted nothing to do with him, being a crappy husband is all he’s guilty of. If nothing happened between the two she would have sued Favre for millions a long time ago. It’s pretty clear what happened here, these two hooked up and now she needs a little publicity while she embarks on a new career posing naked for money. Remember Deadspin’s article is based on third party information, she has yet to say anything tangible on her own behalf.
