New Bears cartoon from Saturday’s Chicago Tribune

I really enjoyed this drawing from this weekends Chicago Tribune. Hope you do to. I’ll be back here on Tuesday! If you want to sub out Josh McDaniels for the Lovie Smith word balloon, I’m totally on board with that.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

Happy labor day, Drew. Love the cartoon. there are seemingly a lot of big players and draft choices being left by the wayside. Its a tough business, the NFL. All business is getting tough, but in the end we will survive and be stronger for it.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Dear Mr. Litton,

This cartoon COULD be used later on this season if the Bears are successful (say making the playoffs). You could put this with a 2nd panel where the same people who are knocking Smith and the Bears now saying later what brilliant moves they made (or words to that effect).

That is because one thing I’ve noticed about fans (myself included). We will knock a team when they’re down especially if we have a strong feeling about it. However if that team becomes successful again we suddenly go “Oh I knew this would be a good move/trade/cut”

    All the best

  3. Drew! No love for college football on opening weekend? I can understand my two other favorite sports (Soccer and MMA) getting marginalized in the grand scheme of things, but NCAA Football is hardly a cult following…
