The One that Got Away
Today’s cartoon is from 9News
The Broncos came up short on Sunday. A yard short. I would love to see the day when the Broncos had a big running back that you could run right up the middle and gain yardage. But yesterday wasn’t the day. I thought the play calling got a bit conservative at times. And I keep wondering why John Fox is so anti-Tebow in situations like those close to the end zone. They guy is a great decoy if nothing else.
Let me know how you saw the game, and the Broncos progress thus far.

Yo, Drew:
The Broncos HAD that running back and absolutely made my day when they gave Peyton Hillis to the Browns AND took Brady Quinn off Cleveland’s hands. I’m just sayin’ . . .
I feel like the problem is Orton. He cant throw to save his life. I said this last week when rookie Dalton tossed for almost double what our so call vet did. It is pathetic. I don’t know if Tebow is the answer, but you know Can’t hurt, might help, always a crowd pleaser. Need i remind everyone that he did play outstanding football as a starter last season. Just sayin…….. I guess ill donate to the billboard.
Good Morning from OMaha,
both the chiefs and the bronco’s are on the verge- of something. Good bad or otherwise. Both teams had their chance yesterday- while the bronco’s chance was better than the chiefs- to win.
the bronco’s couldn’t get the longest yard and the chiefs threw an interception on a screen pass and let the charges run out the clock.
Its the NFL and both teams are building or rebuilding hopefully into a formidable force again in the NFL or at least we can hope they are.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
Gene
I saw a lot I liked. The offense played much better for 3 quarters, the coaching staff made decent adjustments at half time, and the defense held the running game under 100 yards. Huge improvements over last year and last week. I like that the team is improving week to week. Never saw that with McDaniels.
Bronco fans are spoiled. They apparently did not get the memo that rebuilding means losing. A lot. I’d rather end up 4-12 with a bunch of close games like this than getting blow out at home by double digits.
The play calling was abysmal yesterday.
Vaughn sucks as a CB, get him off this team.
Orton, and Plummer before him, must be damned tired of hearing “There is no I in team”. Until there’s a loss then it changes to “But there is a U in lose.”
I know NFL is in full swing (except for my Chiefs – who also blew their opportunity against Marmalard Rivers), but you just had a GREAT MMA card up there in Colorado! Jones vs. Rampage with a 4th round tapout! Show some love to The Cage, Drew!
Or, a toon about the Lions and Bills. In Buffalo, they’re partying like it’s 1992, and Detroit is confused by the success of their Non-Red Wing teams.
This loss is on John Fox. Rule #1: Never take points off the board. Never, ever go for a touchdown on 4th down on the goal line with a so-so team. Get your field goal. Be thankful for every point you can score.
gene,
Go easy on the Chiefs. They’re tied with the Colts and both teams have a perfect season going, so far. 🙂
