After the Bowl Games: The True Story!!!

We have the Bowl Games pre-game shows where we are hopelessly bored by the likes of Lou Holtz. Then we have the actual bowl games themselves, which this year, were a little more than pretty awesome. Then we have the Bowl Games post-game wrap-up shows which are little more than just NFL mock drafts because so many players are declaring themselves eligible for the draft. Who can blame them really. I mean have you seen the job market for a college graduate?

I’ll have a few fun Broncos cartoons to post in the next few days leading up to their encounter with the San Diego Chargers. It should be great fun. And, of course, I’ll be drawing for 9News on Sunday night. So, by all means, stay tooned!!!

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

I really hope the young gentlemen leaving college for the NFL realize that while a career in the NFL is not a long term move, no one can take that education away from them. One twist of the knee, a head slam into the turf or another bigger better faster stronger young man coming to the team and your “career” is over. I read somewhere that the average NFL career is about 3 years.

That is, IF, they are in college for the education as a “student”/athlete. Maybe the hypocrisy of the NCAA has rubbed off on the athlete as well. In this day and age of take the money and run lets hope that after their NFL careers are over that they go back to school and finish getting that diploma, even if is not from the school where they gained fame as athletes.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene

  2. Unless you’re projected as a first- or second-rounder, stay in school.

Also, Drew: Any toons about Dan Le Batard using a poll of fans on Deadspin for his Baseball Hall of Fame vote? Or for Maddux, Glavine or Thomas getting elected? I know you’re a baseball nut, so you MUST have a take on it…
