Blackhawks cartoons for the Chicago Tribune

Uncategorized

I had a fun and busy weekend drawing a couple of cartoons for the Chicago Tribune about the Blackhawks in the playoffs. I thougt you might like to see the results. I also did a Lebron James cartoon for ESPN.com on Sunday. Not sure if it’s still live on their site or not.

  1. So let me get this straight. The Avs go from being worst in the West to qualifying for the playoffs, steal game one from the Sharks, win a crazy game 3 because of an amazing 51-save performance by Anderson coupled with a bizarre overtime goal, then collapse on themselves and lose the next 3 games…

And all we get is cartoons about Tiger Woods, the Nuggets, and the Blackhawks? Where’s the love, Drew?

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

the hockey cartoons are funny this morning, Drew.

I don’t get hockey but always look forward to your “take” on what is going on.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Tyson,

Sometimes, I just run out of ink. In all honesty, I do all I can to cover as much as I can here. Your request however is duly noted.

  4. It’s all good, Drew. I love your cartoons, I just miss the ones about the Avs. It was a lot of fun watching them win this year with a bunch of young players who just didn’t get the message that they were not supposed to be good. No prima donnas, no big-name goons, just Footer, the Duke, and a bunch of kids who simply love to play hockey! We even got ol’ Yelle back at the end! After following your work for several years, I just thought it was the kind of team you’d appreciate and was surprised when I didn’t see anything on them. But I know you’ve got a ton of irons in the fire right now.

Looking forward to the Tebow cartoons this season!

  5. I’m just waiting for Drew to post a cartoon about Ubaldo getting the glory from national press. 🙂
