Ugly

There really isn’t a more descriptive word to sum up the position the Broncos find themselves in now. Three straight losses, a backup quarterback and the Chargers on the horizon, this coming Sunday, the entire season is on the line.

Didn’t we see this coming? The Broncos were fast out of the blocks but the Ravens exposed their weaknesses and every team in the NFL now knows the way to beat them. One final thought. Isn’t it odd that this Cutler trade doesn’t seem to working out for either team? Let me know what you think.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

I was SHOCKED when I heard the bronco’s lost to the redskins. then I learned that Orton was hurtin’ and Simms was in.

Simms hasn’t played a down in a long while. after his spleen was ruptured while playing for tampa bay his experience has been limited to say the least.

He probably hasn’t taken a rep in practice this season or if he has its been because Orton has been using the porta potty.

Let him prepare for a game like he is going to play and see what happens. this was not his best day, but he will get better. couldn’t be much worse.

you gotta believe, they will get better. I believe that if Mickie D hadn’t vested his entire first season and so much money in Orton and trying to prove the writers wrong, Simms would be the starting.

He was a better overall quarterback, emphasis on the word WAS, than Orton and can be again.

IN other developments How about those chiefs. tried to give the game to the raiders and they were so inept they wouldn’t or couldn’t take it.

Strive for excellence ,nothing but your best.

  2. When your defense is on the field for roughly 60% of the game… they are going to get beat eventually. That’s been the case the last 3 games. The Broncos don’t have an effective running game. 120 total run yards. Most of them in the 1st half. That’s when they still had the passing threat. When they get into the red zone, they don’t have the big “run-you-over” running back. Their run threat is almost zero and their red zone percentage shows it!

  3. If you can throw a ball through a tire, or at least hit the tire, you have had a better QB rating than Chris Simms. Orton worked his butt off in the 1st half….

  4. Its amazing that one game with the Ravens changed our season that much. What a nail in the coffin that was for our football team. I just want to know one thing, where in the hell is Brandstater? Lets get him in to play some regular season QB and teach him the ropes after all that is our future for now. The Redskins did not win that game yesterday the Broncos lost it. Im absoulutley disgusted this morning.

  5. The Ravens exposed problems with the Broncos D. You can run on Denver and you can eat up the middle. They are going to have a lot of problems anytime they face a team with a decent runner.

As far as the Cutler trade, you need to wait 3-4 years to see who the winner is. It’s possible both team come out winners. Jay gets a LT worth better than the ham-sandwich Pace is this year, Broncos hit the jackpot with Ayers, Moreno, Smith and whoever the get this year. WIn-win for both teams. Or maybe it’s the Jeff George trade all over again…..Cutler flames out and the none of the draft picks are playing with the Broncos in 4 years. Shrug.

  6. I’m with Gene on this one. I hope Orton will be back, but if he’s not I’m quietly, cautiously hoping that Simms will play better.

  7. So i think that the Bronco nation should draft Mr. Max Hall this year

the man has a cannon and is actually accurate with over 300 passing yards in 8 games this year

  8. Seriously! Orton was 11 for 18 for 193 yards and two touchdown passes in the first quarter. What more do you all want? We lost because Orton got hurt. If Orton was on the field the second half we would have gotten the win. He is ranked 14th in the NFL in passer rating, and Cutler is 22. His record this season is 6-3 (and we all thought Denver would be lucky to win 4) and Cutler’s is 4-5.

Orton didn’t allow a touch down on a fake field goal attempt. Orton didn’t fumble the football while running it. Orton didn’t allow 402 offensive yards from the Redskins. Orton simply put up 193 passing yards in 1 half and unfortunately got injured.

Orton is not the best quarterback in the NFL, but he can hold his own and I predict if he is healthy enough to play this Sunday and the rest of the season we will go 10-6 and make the playoffs.
