Crime and Punishment

I’m not sure why the NBA decided to give Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) a break on his suspension (only 7 games). It’s beyond belief really. And yet, no matter how many times Ron Artest has disgraced the NBA (if that’s even possible anymore) they let him get away with it. Personally, it’s one of the many reason I find myself not watching much of the NBA anymore. Between behavior like this and the prima donnas dominating the league, there’s just not much there to cheer about.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

Metta world has now been suspended for a total of 118 games during his career in the NBA. Even Stephan A smith he is “not right”, that he is supposed to be taking some kind of meds that preclude this kind of behavior and that everyone knows you mess with Ron at your own peril!

Essentially he got a time out! go sit on the stairs until we tell you that you can get up!

IF Ron needs some serious couch time then please, see to it that he gets it. the Lakers, the league someone should help this guy before he seriously hurts someone, as if a concussion is not serious.

The NBA’s track record with crazy is not good. Dennis Rodman is exhibit one. If reporters like stephen a smith and god forbid, skip bayless understand this guy is one thread short of a full net, then everyone should know it!

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. I pretty much have stopped watching the NBA because the “Human Highlight Show” mentality show is sooooo much more important then the idea of playing like a team. This is one more example of “it is all about me”. It is very discouraging that David Stern has done nothing to curb the present mindset of the NBA players.

  3. Dear Drew,

Part of the point has already been made by Gene from Omaha (btw glad to have you back). Not only has Artest been suspended for 118 games in his career but this is also his 14th suspension in his career. This may sound cold, callous, and unfeeling but when a player is suspended this many times he should get the NBA version of NCAA’s Death Penalty. Only in this case he should be suspended for life. That’s right, a lifetime ban. Also no chance of coming back or readmittance.

Now how many suspenstions should it take before the “Death Penalty” for the NBA. That should be made by men with Solomon type wisdom and one thing I know for sure. I don’t have that ability.

    All the best

  4. After this, I’d like you all to take back some of what you guys said about the NHL being soft…
