Football:The end is near!

Uncategorized

With the “so-called” National Championship game now over and the NFL playoffs edging closer to a conclusion, I always feel a sense of panic this time of year.

And the fact that one of my favorite teams (the Saints) is out of the mix it even makes even more pronounced. I’m not an NBA fan. Haven’t been since the days of Magic vs. Bird and really since the era of Unseld and Maravich. Besides, I’m really tired of the Melo trade talk here in Denver.

It seems a long way off until the Rockies open spring training. They trained in Tucson until this coming spring and I made many journeys to that lovely city during that time. It pains me to know the people of Tucson are going through what we experienced at Columbine.

I am back on board with the NHL, after giving it a rest after the ugly Bertuzzi cheap shot years back so there’s that. But, still, the end of the football season is always tough on a lot of us. If you feel like I do please, oh, please feel free to comment.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

There are 7 real games of football left in the NFL- I don’t count the pro bowl as a real game. Then what… well the wife love her HGTV on the big screen and always have TCM,AMC and DVD’s of WKRP, the bob newhart show, and coach I can watch in the basement. that is at least until the weather clears.

I will keep my peripheral vision on the KC SlayoR who are not expected to be competitive until 2013- that is their prediction. the just traded Greinke to Milwaukee and are expected to lose over 100 games again this year.

I’ll be watching for the Rockies to do well this year. IF we make it out to Denver this spring and summer I;ll head out to Coors field for a great baseball experience.

If this snow melts, I’ll be able to ride outside instead of in the basement. I live for fresh air and sunshine. those two thing can cure most of your ills. Even when you are shoveling snow they make the job just a little bit better.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Dear Drew,

This time of year is when I miss the Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League. Some may not think of it as real football but to me it was close enough. It was always enough to get me through to spring training for the Rockies.

I wish the Crush would return.

  3. The NHL. The NBA. NCAA Hoops. English Premier League. UEFA Champions’ League. MMA (which I would like to see a couple of toons about, if you’re taking requests).

I’m not a fan of golf or baseball, but that also starts soon.

We have a lot to choose from still. And, if the lockout comes to pass, we’ll have to get comfortable with it.

  4. Depression, listlessness, not knowing what to do, oh wait, that started pretty much at the beginning of this season. Yes, I too, have a difficult time transitioning after the Super Bowl. But there is bowling for a while on Sundays! Go PDW.

  5. GMFO-

I can’t stand watching baseball on TV- if I go to a game thats the only way I will watch baseball. Golf is to played in order to be enjoyed, even if you play it badly. bring on the fresh air and sunshine-anytime soon!

  6. I am glad to hear you are back on board with hockey. The Av’s are young and fun to watch. I am afraid to say, they have a brighter future then the Broncos. I’d love to see some hockey cartoons.
