Game On

Uncategorized

I say there is no time like the present to start a streak. The Rox beat the Giants last night pelting Tim Lincecum with 7 runs. I say that’s a good sign. So here is a cartoon from the May issue of Rockies Magazine currently available at the ball park and all over the Denver metro area. Oh and all over DIA as well. So it’s time to put on the rally caps and think “Rocktober”

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

The rockies and the kc slayor are both winning games at a similar clip..20-18 for the Rox and 20-19 for the KC nine and yet the Rox are one game out and the bunch from Missouri are about 5 games out of first.

The difference seems to be the hope the towns have for there teams. After last nights 19-1 beating from Cleveland at home at the K the Slayor fans are saying “here we go again” and the Rox’s fans are, after there win, full of optimism.

The fact that the KC 9 have had 18 straight years of really bad baseball ,the only glimmer of hope is a reportedly, really good farm system. The Rox are winning, now. and while they may have had their stumbles in the last season or two the Royals have found their feet only occasionally over the last 18 years with only one season even approaching .500.

There is still hope for a Slayor and Rockie world series but its fading fast in KC.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Drew,

Like the Cartoon and I’m glad the Rocko’s won last night. It was a good win for them and hopefully we turn the switch on and see a more consistent team. We play some pretty good teams in the next week or so.

It is frustrating to watch a team with this much talent struggle in different areas causing us to lose. It goes from Tulo and Cargo slumping (hopefully that is over) to Ubaldo giving up home-runs and walking batters (we will see how he looks today), to losing leads late in games, to nobody being able to hit while playing third base. Hopefully we start winning at home and in our division. Good thing we got off to a good start/ played some teams that have been known to struggled because the last couple of weeks we gave it all back. But if we win today we will be back in first place. I know it is along season but I just want us to play with all cylinders clicking and find out how good we really are.

Good to see the caption contest back, you have some creative followers.

  3. Baseball, it’s a long season. Slumps and comebacks are part of the great lore of this sport, I love a close chase down the stretch, love what it brings out in athletes. Got to go vote for Tulo, Cargo, Todd, and Ubaldo for Allstars, get my days quota in.
