Geez, you’d think the Rapids would have been at least a bit of a bright spot…
Ditto, Badger!
Dear Mr. Litton,
Actually there were a few times when sports in Colorado didn’t leave us run down. Except for the final 2 weeks of the season the Rockies gave us a lot of grear times. Nuggets aren’t half bad even with the Carmelo garbage. Of course the Rapids winning it all was awesome and the Air Force Falcons going to a bowl game wasn’t shabby.
So maybe 2010 wasn’t so bad though I do hope that 2011 is much better
Happy New Year Mr. Litton.
All the best,
Louis
The Rapids were a welcome relief and I do plan on attending a match this year because of what they did.
Good Morning from Omaha,
Man can some people pick nits- things overall everywhere have not been good. Even the Yankees are stumbling, which in my mind, is a good thing.
2011 will bring more Rapids success, the Nuggets will make the playoffs, the Rockies will do very well and play well enough to keep people interested the entire season and the Bronco’s- up is a good way to go!
as for the teams I root for- the Slayor are now without there best pitcher and are now telling fans to wait until 2013 and then watch out- that is the same song that has been sung for years.
The chiefs made the playoffs, a good thing, but now there is talk that Weiss is going to coach at Florida as the OC. He doesn’t need the money as he is still getting paid from his stint at Notre Dame but Haley tends to interfere with his play calling on game day and he does NOT like that.
2011 will be a great year for one and all- I WILL get a job- we will remodel our kitchen, and we will get one more year closer to being able to enjoy our lives.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
Gene
Happy New Year Everyone! No slight intended for those Rapids and their fans! But so much of this years emphasis has been on the collapse of the once great NFL franchise of the Broncos and the bottoming out of the Buffs football program in Boulder that, well…it was an analogy that worked. Besides the drawing was a heck of a lot of fun!
Let’s make 2011 a great one!
Drew
Dear Mr. Litton,
I got to thinking that indirectly that cartoon could also be the symbol for the TCU football team this season. I say that in this regard. They go undefeated and yet in the end it won’t matter. They’ll just join Boise State from a few years ago, Penn State from the late 60’s (if memory serves me correctly) and any other team that finished the regular season and bowl game with an undefeated record but not winning the national championship.
If according to the saying a tie is like “Kissing your sister” then to me to go undefeated and not having a chance to win the national title is like kissing your dog.
All the best
Louis
Drew,
Thank you for a wonderfully entertaining and insightful commentary on 2010 sports (especially Colorado’s). We are looking forward to your 2011 work. Our #1 request is a ‘toon of McDaniels coveting glare focused on the Broncos’ Coach To-Be-Determined clutching the 2011 Lombardi Trophy.
Mike
Colorado will rise from the desert once again and be mighty and in the forefront of sports. Elway will arrive on his white steed, AKA Thunder, to save the Broncos. The CU alumnists will cough up big dollars to shore up that program and Jon Embree will lead them to the Promised Land. Of course, all this will take a few years………What are the Avalanche up to these days?
