High School Football and the world of Freelance

This is the second of a series of football programs that I’m doing for the Pomona High School Football season. I’m having a blast doing them and I’m hoping these can lead to doing some more down the road. I’m really enjoying this life as a freelance illustrator and animator. It gives me a lot of freedom artistically. I’m still learning the business side of things. If any of you are freelancers, I’d love to hear from you. Maybe we could start a monthly meeting over coffee where we could talk about the fun we have and the challenges we face.

  1. Hi Drew!

I am a freelancer specializing in web development (WordPress) and graphic design. I was excited to find your site because I grew up in Denver reading the Post and News and always enjoyed your cartoons. I live in Iowa now and its great to be able to get them again! Thanks for putting your work out there.

As a freelancer there are a couple pieces of software that I would not survive without. The first is Basecamp. It is a tool used to communicate with clients and manage projects. It is very easy to use and my clients love it.

The second item I would recommend is Freshbooks. It is online software that manages invoicing. Again I would be totally lost without this program. I’ve used it for several years and wouldn’t think about switching to anything else.

Thanks again for sharing your work – its brilliant!
