How the Game has Changed

The game changes so much from year to year, sometimes it’s hard to keep up. this was inspired by a story from a few weeks back about misplaced jewelry on the field. This just seemed a funny contrast to me from the days when contacts were all you could ever lose (besides a fumble). So here’s a little frivolity for today. The last two days have been so somber.
Follow Me
Good Morning from Omaha,
I think all tis ear ring stuff started with Michael Jordan, who made it appear popular.
I saw that story also. I would think putting a helmet on your head over some of those big
ear rings might be a little uncomfortable. and getting hit wearing an ear ring, would be painful.
I thnk guys wearing ear rings look silly, but its another trend that we have accepted because
where is the harm to others. I wouldn’t do it but that is my choice.
strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

Dear Mr. Litton,
As I recall many years ago when the earrings were first being worn by football players an elderly former player (I want to say Butkus but I’m most likely wrong) made a comment along the lines of “If anyone wore an earring in my day we would have ripped it and part of his ear off.”
On a personal note I sometimes wonder if all those players wearing earrings are just trying to be glorified diva’s. Part of that “Don’t look at him, look at me mentality”
all the best

Cartoon suggestion: Ichiro just gave us an entire decade of 200-hit seasons…all with the Mariners, which he should get extra credit for. Old timers have Williams and Musial, I had Boggs and Gwynn, this generation has Ichiro as its most consistent hitter.
