Lebron’s Tough Choices

Uncategorized

The decisions LeBron James must make in the weeks or months ahead reminds me just how coddled and spoiled so many of today’s athletes are. For a lot of them, everything is handed to them on a silver platter once they begin to exhibit outstanding athletic skills. I know some come from impoverished backgrounds and are brought up in neighborhoods that are crime and drug ridden. But it’s the athletes who are given special treatment early on way beyond those afforded to their peers. And then they become entitled. They lose perspective of their place in life and no longer can relate to the fans who pay their way.

I’ve always wondered why teachers aren’t the ones we should be celebrating. Their contribution to the world is far greater than a few 20 year olds who can dunk a basketball. Just saying.

  1. Good morning from Omaha,

I agree with you about teachers, but there are not millions of people out there waiting to watch my wife teach kids 16th notes. she is fun and entertaining and the kids learn but if you put up three folding chairs and made some pop corn two of the three chairs would be empty and I can only eat so much pop corn.

Parents are so busy trying to make a living, as they always have been. Its not just an Obama thing. The parents love their children so much and want nothing but the best for them. Parents have always lamented the fact that their is only so many hours in a day and the time they can spend with their children goes by so fast.

It is just the nature of the beast. The ones who lay the foundation for things, education and basements, don’t earn as much as those who build upon their work. We seem to take them for granted but almost all of us can look back at remember our favorite teacher or teachers.

Thank goodness some people still choose to educate the next generation, but they better know that while you are not taking a vow of poverty, you aren’t gong to rubbing shoulders with warren buffet or donald trump.

LeBron is starting to believe the hype and unfortunately we have all seen what happens then. You don’t have to look to far to see the bad results.

wow, I am on a roll today. my fingers are starting to cramp up.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
