Wow! What a finish in Vancouver! The hockey game was amazing and, I’m sure, left Joe Sakic very happy. The rest of us Americans, not so much. Valiant effort by the USA regardless. And Ryan Miller was Patrick Roy Incredible! Still personally more than disappointed that RUSH didn’t play the closing ceremonies. But, hey we all had our letdowns. I know for sure I won’t miss hearing Lindsey Vonn 24 hours a day. A big Thanks to the Chicago Tribune for making it possible to do so many Olympic cartoons. I had a blast!

Site Changes. As you can see I had a busy weekend reconfiguring the site one more time. I promise it won’t be changing on you again any time soon. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I think the look is cleaner, easier to navigate and more defined as a Sports Cartoon Blog. I’ll be adding some Video content soon, in the studio stuff of me showing you how I work and some How-To-Draw-Elway tips. I think it’s going to be a blast. There will also be a Q & A category in the header for some fun inside facts. I also hope to have a BIG announcement by weeks end. Thanks to everyone for continuing to read “win, lose & Drew” cartoons. I’m committed to bringing you great cartoon content 5 Days-a-week (and sometimes more) now more than ever. Enjoy, and as always I value your comments so much!

  1. They did have Neil Young though Drew, the greatest Canadien rocker fo them all.

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

Its been a fun two weeks. We saw the next generation really put their best foot forward.

Great sportsmanship all the way through. the speed skaters were awesome and yes I even

watched a little hockey yesterday afternoon. the bobsled guys were great. And the drive of the “nighttrain” sled that won the gold.. looked like the Larry the cable guy in tights.

All these medals they won bode well for the future.

Yes the closing was a “little” hokey but you have to have a sense of humor and my wife the

    music teacher said “neil who?”

Bring on the baseball. Heck I was so bored this weekend I even watched some of the combine from

Indianapolis. Still got my rides in and all my walking. Want to ride outside but we still have about 6″ of snow on the ground and ice where there is no snow.

I keep telling myself that August is coming.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. To signify the Canadian hockey gold, you should have had a big red maple leaf with a U.S. hockey player in front of it, holding up his hands in fear of it – a take on 2112 by Rush.

  4. You guys are in rare form this morning.I roared at the line “Larry the Cable Guy in Tights” Where were you, Gene, when I needed that idea. That’s hilarious. And, though I am a Neil Young fan, RUSH isone of those bands that never seem to get their due respect. I must admit I like their later stuff much more than their earlier work. Geddy’s voice doesn’t get as peircing these days and they are more melodic than those earlier years.

Anyone have a favorite Olympic moment?

  5. GMFO,

I feel bad about the tie in between the sled driver and Larry the cable guy.

Two years ago the driver of the sled was legally blind and had some experimental surgery

to restore his eye site. I guess he used his other senses to get that NIghttrain sled down the track.

With a ball cap on he looks like Larry the cable guy.

When you looked at the other teams, like from germany or russia switzerland and the rest, the guys were ripped. And if that is all the physically fit you

have to be to win a gold…. I’ll get off my bike and stop walking 4 miles a day and switch to

a diet of Oreo’s and Ice cream.

    I can train like that.

Striving for excellence, and giving it nothing but my best.

  6. It’s really a pleasant surprise. I think this is a great article. I’ve checked out your other posts and must say they are very informative indeed. Hope to read more from your site.

  7. GMFO,

    she teaches elementary music.

Its notes and rhythms and stuff like that.

the hammer and nails of music not the Taj Mahal.

there will be time for Neil Young
