Peyton Manning can’t do it all by himself. Dropped passes, fumbles, more dropped passes missed reads, pass routes run wrong or not at all and did I mention dropped passes, are not the recipe for success. And, it goes without saying that the defense has it’s own set of issues. Until the Broncos can get all of these things solved it’s going to be a win one, lose one kind of season.

  1. Great depiction of our non-performing weekend…AGAIN!

Not only does this speak volumes to the team as a whole, but I wonder if, Drew, you were thinking that Peyton MUST be wondering if he shot himself in the foot with a team that isn’t worthy???

I feel for Peyton! He brings a lot to the table. His spiral isn’t what it used to be and neither is his athleticism. But I can say that our team has it in them to play AND beat the very best making them…ahem…THE BEST! Yet, BANG…our foot is hurting almost weekly! In no way should our team be sitting with this 2-3 record!

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

Its hard lesson to learn. the Bronco’s are NOT the colts and will not be this year. There are a lot of signs of hope for the Bronco’s this year. They are learning the Manning system and manning is learning who the real players are on this team.

Fox and Elway have tried to surround him with colt type players but they need to be bronco’s first and Peyton needs to be a team player also. I am just trying to say that Manning is still shaking off the rust from a year without playing and four neck surgeries. the running backs thrived in the colt system and that line they had was almost second to none.

its going to take some time for this jello that is the bronco’s to fill out that colt mold. Maybe not this year, but soon, IF manning can stay healthy, this experiment will pay dividends to the bronco faithful.

There are a lot if IFs involved in that statement and a lot of things have to fall into placebut I think Elway knows enough football to bring in the right ingredients to make this think work.

The chiefs, meh. go ahead and cheer the injury to your qb. A bunch of stuff is wrong in KC and cheering the injury to Matt cassel is just a symptom of a deeper problem within the franchise and the NFL in general.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Gene’s right. It really is a season of transitions and “getting to know” for the Manning-led Broncos this year. That being said, you’re right too, Drew. Dropped passes, fumbles, mis-reads, and turnovers, do not win games.

Timing is everything, and I’m reminded of the hapless Rockies, as Jim Tracy resigned. The Rockies had the same issues of dropped balls, wild throws, and other errors – that the Broncos are experiencing.

It comes down to the players showing up with their best “A” game every time they step on the field. Last week, and yesterday, Demarius Thomas made two HUGE mistakes by not tucking that ball into his body, and holding on for dear life. MacGehee made the same mistake. And then to not recover those fumbles? Just where was the offensive line? I couldn’t believe what I was hearing on the radio broadcast of the game…and then I saw it on the live stream of the news. I am the farthest thing from an expert on the rules, and how to play, the game of football. However, even I know that the ball is the most valuable possession in a game. It is the most basic tenet of the game: hold on to the ball, don’t give up possession.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a re-building year for the Broncos. I’m really trying to focus on the positive actions, and improvements, of the team as a whole. It hasn’t been easy. However, I’ll never give up on the team for whom I’ve had a life-long passion. A week from tonight, we face the Chargers on their home turf. I hope the Broncos show up. Ready and willing to play.
