Super Bowl Blog (from the Patriots Point of View)
My Super bowl Blog for ESPN.com. Kurt Snibbe did one from the Giants point of view! But first this Update on Gene Anderson from his wife: This is JoEllyn writing… For those who don’t know-Gene had a stroke last Thursday and is recovering at Methodist. We have had many prayers answered but many more are still needed and will continue to be needed for a long time. Pneumonia, feeding peg, rehab, etc. No one should need to learn all the things we have had to in the past few days. Thanks for keeping the prayers coming!
And now averting a delay of game penalty I bring you:

Great Toons Drew – Thanks for the update on Gene – Still sending prayers his way.
Good morning from Portland –
Yeah…, this about sums up the game pretty well. I think the Safety was the best part, it certainly was the funniest with the commentators doing the “uhh… yeah… that WAS a safety!”
Going to check out the Giants POV right now!
Meaghan
GMFO-
what a game. that safety on the fist play NE had the ball made a big difference in the conclusion. Loved that North Platte, NE Danny Woodhead contributed so much and even got a touchdown! My son thought he might get 5-7 carries in the gama. The big time receivers, Gronk, Hernadez and ocho cinco would carry the game. wes welker has always been a go to guy but the giants were ready for them.
On a lighter note, we had a super bowl party in my room during the game. I can’t swallow but I can rinse and spit so I love cold crystal light pink lemonade to rinse and spit with, while they ate a sam and louis pizza special pizza, with cheese bread and marinara. Yummmm, Pink lemonade. Pizza, just because I haven’t eaten since wednesday evening- I don’t need no stinkin’ pizza. yum Pink lemonade!
tomorrow- apple juice after surgery!
strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
Gene
Great to hear from you, Gene! I will be thinking positively for you tomorrow and the days following. Great stuff, Drew! I particularly love the cape. It’s so interesting what small events can turn a game. I really think that first punt and subsequent safety after the Pats deferred was huge for the outcome. I can’t wait for the football season to start.
First things first….
GENE!!!!!
I’m so glad to read your posts on Drew’s blog again! I take that as a good sign. Who needs pizza when you can have pink lemonade? Keep up the awesome and positive attitude! A great sense of humor will continue to carry you through the days and weeks ahead. You, your family, and your medical team remain in my prayers. Remember to tell your medical team to “Strive for excellence, Nothing but your best!” I’ll be saying extra prayers for your surgery to go well, and your recovery, swift.
OKAY, now on to the cartoon strip: Drew, I love it. I called my dad (at what I thought was half-time) right when Brady and his teammates were making that push in the last 10 seconds of the half. Dad put me “on hold” until it was over, giving me a play-by-play along the way. Apparently, that was the best part of the game! Who knew? We were rooting for young Nate Solder, a rookie from Buena Vista, and a CU Buffalo alum. That is the ONLY reason I would ever cheer on the Patriots! Sorry that it didn’t go the Patriots’ way; yet glad that the Giants won.
Bring on the OTA’s, mini-camps, and training camp! I’m ready for the 2012-2013 Bronco season…NOW!!! It is going to be a long spring and summer. *sigh*
Gene,
I hope the surgery was a success. It is great to “hear” you still writing and keeping the PMA no matter what life throws your way.
Keep Striving!
Mike
