Messy

Who would have thought we’d end up the Broncos season right back where we started it from? The year ends with a head coach in disarray, a team without an identity, and the worst part, Broncos fans left without a playoff appearance.

Now what? This team is clearly divided. And we know a team divided cannot stand….

If you were in charge of the Broncos…

  1. Even though the season ended on a down side, I have to admit that they had a better record then I thought they would going into the season. Still wonder how bad the offseason moves will be. Sure hope it is better then last years.

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

Wow, what a season. The Bronco’s had a chance at the playoffs with a new coach and new ID>

I don;t know if Josh’s way is the way to the playoffs or not but if the team had taken care of business against the raiders they wouldn’t have been in the soup they were in against the chiefs.

But as the old saying goes “if a frog could fly……

My but didn’t the chiefs look good, finally.

strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene

  3. I have a few comments to people in Denver.

I have been a Broncos fan since I moved to Denver in 1980 (I was 4 then).

    I now live in Omaha – I don’t know Gene, so don’t ask 🙂

    1. HOW ON EARTH are there 4,000 EMPTY seats @ Mile High stadium? You Denver folks who say the team quit – YOU quit too! Show up, support the team – even if they stink. If I lived less than 500 miles away – I would have been there. I don’t get it.

    2. The 8-8 record is better than I thought we’d see this year. It’s a rebuilding year – if next year is not better, *THEN* call for McD’s head.

    3. The whole B-Marsh and Sheffler thing needed to happen. They didn’t miss Marshall – Gaffney stepped up huge. Sheffler was missed – but they haven’t really used him all year anyhow, so who knows. If those guys are whining in practice and Marshall just wants individual records – let him go. Baby TO – I guess he’s trying to live up to that name.

While it’s sad to lose to the lowly Chefs… it could be worse. We could be Oakland fans. 🙂

  4. I just don’t know what to say really. I guess number one would be thank god that is over. Can you even imagine how badly we would have been embarrassed in the playoffs ugh! McDaniels IMHO is not the answer and never will be the answer. Go get Cowher before it is too late. Bowlin will never swallow his pride and hire Shanahan back. Let me ask this though. I was one who earlier in the year said to bench Marshall and let him feel the sting in his wallet. The Bronco orginization decided to let him play knowing the bad blood between him and McDaniels but then they don’t let him play because he shows up late for an appointment for an injury that wasn’t even and injury anymore? Did I understand that correctly? How about a hoodie burning party like they did with the socks.

  5. The Broncos have not seemed to have heart or desire to win in the last few seasons. I have no idea how you inspire that in an entire team. The loss to the Raiders and especially yesterday’s did not look like a team that cared if they won. Some individual players, yes, but collectively no. Why didn’t they, in either of those games, come out kicking butt? They stumbled coming out of the gate in both games, and never played inspired. Is that a coaching thing?

  6. Sherri,

You’d hope by now that players could motivate themselves at that level but it doesn’t work that way. One of the ways I’ve always gone about watching professional sports is to remember first and foremost, it’s a business. Just like any office, there are politics, infighting, back biting, goofing off, calling in sick, not trusting your boss, you know, the usual stuff that people in offices deal with everyday. It’s no different for the broncos. Their office just happens to be a green playing field. But they go through all of the petty little things that we all do in our work places. I think if more people looked at pro sports that way it might help them to understand things that happen both on and off the field.

  7. Not sure why you have Shanahan in this toon, but there is no reason. He wants nothing to do with this collection of malcontents.

  8. Andy I was at the game and it sucked!!!! Team played with no emotion!!! Any more going to the game is not as fun as it use to be!!!! The NFL has made it so coperate it is not funny. I have gone for years and remember when on the scoreboard it would say south stands we cant hear you, now good luck if the team does anything to get the crowd going. Oh wait the under amour thing of we must protect this house come on. As for McD he needs to grow up and act like a professional coach not a high school coach!!!! Honestly he will be here one more year so please grow up and lead the players not act like one!!!!!!

  9. Thanks, Drew, for your response. If we view it that way, won’t that take away some of the emotion, make it more like, oh say, being at work? Take away some of the heart break? Oh wait, that might be a good thing. I will make an effort next year to shed the rose colored glasses and inject some reality. Go Avs.
