The Grindstone of NFL coaching.

Coaching in the NFL is not for everyone. None of us can begin to imagine the hours, the pressure and the sacrifice it takes to coach at that level. My thoughts and prayers go out to John Fox and Gary Kubiak.

There are only 32 jobs available in the NFL to be a head coach. Now of all the coaches in all the world to find the 32 “best” coaches puts them under a lot of pressure. They know this going in. its a great gig if you can get it.

How many of us would leave the couch and make the decisions these guys get paid to make, just on sunday afternoon. There are 6 other days in the week but for three hours for 16 Sundays we all think we could do their job better.

Nothing like having 73K critics critiquing your every move. yes the money is great. the job has torn apart families, ruined health and destroyed careers. One single decision can throw it all into a cocked hat.

How among us can take that pressure. No its not life and death like a doctor/ surgeon faces every day or that single mom how makes time between having two part time jobs to get to there children’s activities.

Football is still a game, played by men/boys ( are you listening Icognito) for ridiculous sums of money. the owners sometimes treat their teams like a plaything but deep down inside they have that desire to win, or they wouldn’t have the money to be owners.

Coaching is a rough profession but it has its rewards. Sometimes you just have to wonder if its all worth it.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best
