The woes of NFL Training Camp

Uncategorized

Training camp can be tedious grueling and downright unhealthy for those who have to endure it. Yeah, I know they’ve cut down on two-a-days. Vince Lombardi must be somewhere in Heaven screaming in disbelief, but, still, these NFL camps are not for the faint of heart. Or faint of a little too much Sun for that matter.

Sorry I missed posting this cartoon this morning. I know you all count on a new cartoon being here and I do apologize for getting this up so late. I’ll try to never let it happen again.

  1. With the intense heat and humidity on many training camp fields – whether it is the NFL, collegiate, or prep sports – and the rush to get the NFL teams up to speed, those organizations have to remember to keep players and coaches hydrated (and their electrolytes replaced). There is too much at stake. Most of all their lives. If they don’t, then Korey Stringer’s death will have been in vain. He was a beloved member of the Minnesota Vikings, who collapsed and died on the practive field, turning training camp, several years ago. A lot of the measures in place on practice fields, to keep players hydrated today, are in reaction to Korey’s, and others’ deaths, in the past.

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

the chiefs, in there first pre season game, looked pretty bad. turns out the coach is still trying to get his players in shape. so yes they practice football but the coach seems intent on being a PE teacher first and football coach second. OH well, he seemed to have worked last year.

Hopefully, the chiefs will have a good season but if NFL stats are correct about new coaches and success they probably won’t win more than about 6 games after winning 10 last year. Its next season that is supposed to be THEIR year.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Gouldinator,

I just picked random numbers on this one. It was for the syndicate and wasn’t meant to be Broncos specific. I’ll double check next time. I always pick those two numbers when I need random. 77 was the year I graduated high school.
