A Doubleheader

It doesn’t happen often but today I’m giving you two for the price of one. I simply had to weigh in on the Tiger Woods announcement that he is leaving the PGA tour indefinitely. Nice of him to drop the huge news bomb at 7 p.m. ET on a Friday. I’m sure the PGA especially appreciated it. Tiger is losing sponsors almost as often as new flings emerge from Tigers apparently very full closet. It’s not so good for golf, Tiger, and the world of advertising. But man, is it ever fun for a cartoonist. Let me know what you all think about Tiger.

And below is another cartoon from yesterdays Bronco-Colts game. I always liked the saying let’s play two.

Now I have no idea what I’m going to do for an encore on Tuesday morning. But enjoy these nonetheless.

  1. No, not Cindy Lou!!!! – – and the rest of us. The Grinch was able to change, but then we thought he was mean and evil and he ended up to be a sweetheart. I think this one’s the other way around.

  2. I know I’m in the minority in this, but one or more of those girls who Tiger supposedly dallied with has to be lying so they can make a quick buck at his expense.

  3. It reminds me of the cartoon you did back in the mid-1980s, but that time, the Grinch was wearing a Raiders Helmet. It was just after the Raiders killed the Broncos playoff hopes. I think it also became part of a calendar that the Rocky Mountain News was selling with all of your cartoons from the previous year.

  4. Being a fan of both Dr. Seuss and Chuck Jones (got to meet the late, great Mr. Jones at the Denver Film Fest about 20 years ago), and absolutely loathing those who cheat on their spouses (just divorce and have all the empty sex you want), this is perfect.

I wish his soon-to-be ex-wife a happy, new life. The way she shut down her marriage suggests she knew for a long time something was wrong. Did she have a contingency plan in place? Hard to say. But, she bought the new house, which is on an island. That’s a pretty quick transaction for somebody who just found out.

I love your work, Drew. This one is outstanding.

Did you draw this with the new Wacom-like tablet?
