This Soccer cartoon will always be one of my favorites. It’s a good day for a cartoonist when he or she can convey their sentiments without words. And if it ends up on a refrigerator somewhere now that’s a perfect day.

So the big kickoff is Saturday. I’ll be doing a cartoon as soon as I can after the USA match-up with England for ESPN.com. And I’m turning over a new leaf. (gulp). From here on I treat soccer with some respect. I deserves it. It’s time. And to be honest, I’ll gladly take 90 minutes of watching a bunch of guys kicking a ball around a green pasture over the tragic images coming out of the Gulf.
