Bird Brains

So they have 24 hours more to reach an agreement. I still say they are a bunch of Bird Brains! This one ran on ESPN.com on Thursday. I thought you might like to see it.

A Note about Mingle:

I’ve deactivated the Mingle option on the site. It never really took off and every piano I can heave out of the Hot Air Balloon the lighter and quicker the site loads. Thanks for the folks who signed up all those many months ago. This theme is compatible with Buddy Press (also a form of social media) so you never know. But I don’t know about you but I feel like maybe we don’t need one more form of it on here.

Have a terrific weekend!

  1. Dear Drew,

Great cartoon. Especially since both sides are behaving like a bunch of “Dodo’s” and may cause the NFL to become “extinct” (yeah, that may be stretching things thin for a joke but had to say it)

The NFL and the union better be careful or they’ll blow it like that Utah player did Thur. night against the Nuggets (for those who don’t know the Utah player stole the inbound pass then missed the layup as time expired that would have sent the Denver-Utah game into overtime)

    Have a great weekend everybody

    All the best

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

I thought you might have something to say about the BYU basketball player and being removed from the team for his transgression. Its good to see that a school has standards and doesn’t turn a blind eye at behavior that is generally accepted in society.

maybe if society in general were a little less forgiving we wouldn’t have the problems we have with gangs, drugs, diva’s and overly inflated ego driven crime and thuggery- as my grandfather used to say and maybe he borrowed it from someone else, Too many kids have been Spocked and not spanked!

When we went to our first football game at CSU we were privileged enough to sit among some fans from BYU and a nicer bunch of people you won’t find anywhere. While there code of conduct may be antiquated and seem out of date if everyone knows the rules and signed on to it then its good to see that at least at BYU no one is above them, contrary to what Kizla has to say in the Post.

In the meantime, “walk on by” that big piece of cake on the counter and get outside!!!

See I do read a lot of posts. See you guys on Monday, have a great weekend and remember…

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Great analogy Drew! Even better cartoon!

(I agree with the your comment about social media.)

Sweet and simple (this is the shortest comment I’ve ever posted),

  4. Louis,

Thanks for the compliment. They both are dodos.

Have fun this weekend. I’m planning on seeing the movie Rango.

    Should be fun!

  5. Gene,

The BYU story is compelling for sure. The standards they set are indeed high. I was hesitant to jump on the story because it wasn’t until today that details emerged as to the violation. I might do something next week if the story sticks around.

Looking forward to seeing Rango this weekend. I’ll try to leave the butter off the popcorn.

    Have a good one!

  6. Peg,

In keeping with you theme for the day…simply, well said.

    Have a terrific weekend!

  7. Well, the bird brains have voted for a seven-day extension. Could it be that they are really working at this mediation thing? Only a week will tell.

    Enjoy your weekend, too, Drew!
