The Brandon Marshall Wave

I must admit I’m not surprised by the recent antics of Brandon Marshall. For me it’s adios, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Maybe you feel the same way, perhaps not. But the way I look at it is the Broncos are one of the NFL’s most storied franchises. Their fans are simply the best in the NFL. Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler both, should have felt a sense of pride to be part of this community and part of the Denver Broncos organization, run by one of the best owners in football. Sure, there have been mistakes made as of late, but since when did Denver turn into the little sisters of the poor? So my take is, simply, good riddance. Chicago isn’t so friendly in the heart of winter and here’s hoping Brandon ends up somewhere, oh, like Oakland. Let’s see how he does against Champ Bailey.

  1. Little T.O. is having his little tizzy about not getting paid enough to catch footballs and bring the drama of his personal life to the game.

Marshall is a great player when he isn’t being an egotistical donkey or immature kid. Sad to see him go, but I think the Broncos are making the right call getting rid of the guy before he finishes imploding.

Good luck, Brandon. You’ll need it.

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

Do contracts mean nothing in the NFL? He can ask all he wants for more money but the fact that he is under contract to the Bronco’s and in most areas of life you fulfill your end of the deal and the other party pays you for your services.

If he had a bad year would Mr B be able to ask for a portion of his money back? Brandon, you play a childs game for real persons money. Either shut up and play or sit the season out at home with your reported distractions and collect NO money.

Time for the NFL to draw a line. the fans are hurting and have had enough bad news in their lives without some potential millionaire complaining he is only making 2.1 m instead of 2.5.

Its all out of whack right now and maybe its time for Brandon to get a real job and use his education he got while on scholarship. What was his degree in???

Strive for excellence, Nothing but your best.

  3. If the Broncos can’t get any decent value for Marshall, (who wouldn’t want a woman abusing law breaker anyway) then let him rot on the bench (deactivated).

Last time I checked, the Pats won with a team concept and had one of the best offenses last year.

The Broncos had two young stars who couldn’t get more than 16th in scoring in 2008. I would rather take a player less talented with more heart (see Rod Smith) than Marshall (great talent, bad character).

  4. I have a really good idea where Brandon Marshall want to go, well actually a few places. New York Jets or Giants, and Atlanta. I just have a hunch. Well enough hardy boys for the day. That jackhole didnt want to post what I had to say on his blog response. I basicly told him that ” I pray that he would make the right decision to stay here in denver and that if he did not, that the organization would make him suffer like Ohco Cinco in Cinci”. Hell lets put the franchise tag on him and REALLY piss him off!!! On the other hand lets get a good player for him and send him to a team without a good QB I would like that too!! He is gonna realize that the grass is not always greener on the other side. $$$$$$$$$$ thats what its all about! Accept the offer B-Marsh or go to the AFC East(JETS) where Joey Porter and Jason Taylor will take care of your you and if he decides to go there. OH,dear me, I see a hospital bed in his future. GET THE PICUTRE B! Eazy BEEZY LEMON SQEEZY( this is the referance Brandon Marshall made to Joey Porter in during last season, he callled him Peezy)! Just like the fans in Green Bay’s EX-Girlfriend Farve’s legs to be broke well Cutler and B-Marsh this BEERS for you. Oh yeah Cutler and Marshall had thir little chit chat too planing this all out. All the News stations on last nights evening sports telecast showed Cutler just as happy as he could be that Marshall was doin this in that stupid grin. Dollars to Doughnuts that the Broncos will have more wins than the Bears. Everyone dont be suprised that the Broncos will shock some teams this year even though they wont make the playoffs

  5. Wow Matty G you said a mouthful. I think that the Broncos could win if Joshy straightens himself out and if the players start to like him and if he earns some respect, and if just if he can do what he was hired to do. As for Marshall let him sit, deactivated. And for the love of God Mr. Bowlen please wake us up from this nightmare.

  6. Why is it always Wide Receivers? The most Non-Football related position on field, except kickers of course.

It’s time to change the rules back to the olds days and bring Chuck Cecil in to clean the Primadonnas outs.

  7. Looks like we have some very spirited comments this morning.

Well I’m a fan of telling “Brandum” don’t let the door hit ya were the good lord split ya. And the Broncos were the Broncos long before these kids came through town and they will be here long after they are gone. But we can’t win on hope alone, even if that is what Bronco County is built on. We do need talent and we are not the “Pat’s”. We aren’t even close, they didn’t trade their pro-bowl quarterback and they did tame a Wide-out that had bad character. I guess I’m not sure where I’m head with this but we have to make stand somewhere. We don’t want to become the doormat of the league or even worse a place where other team’s fans want to send their hated players to die.

Also Drew you have to somehow filter the Google ads. The Bears Cutler Jersey is killing me (Although it is kind of funny.) I’m pretty sure the only reason anyone on here would buy that is so they could burn it or give it as a gag gift.

  8. As much as I would like to see Marshall hit the road, I’m afraid of the precedent this sets. Any player who is unhappy for whatever reason has now seen how to get out of town. Miss meetings. Check. P*ss off the owner. Check. Ticket out of town. Check. That’s a horrible way to run a franchise and it will cause problems with other players.

I say sit him. He isn’t going anyway and has no leverage. He doesn’t qualify for FA next year if it’s an uncapped year, which means he a Bronco at a a very nice price. Don’t bother with the franchise tag. Why pay him top 3 money even for one year?

to me this is just another sign that front office is in disarray. Who the heck is in charge? Is it McDaniels? Bowlen? Xanders? The WATER Boy? How did we get to this point?

  9. So Drew you’re telling me that it’s perfectly fine for a team to cut a player and take away money from them when they think that they are overpaid yet it’s unfair for a player to demand a raise from a team when he thinks he is underpaid (and marshall is underpaid). In the NFL the teams have all the power in the world and the players have none. When did it become a crime to ask for more money based on a good performance?

  10. Spot on cartoon as usual Drew. I agree; this guy is a New York club appearance away from turning into Plaxico Burress. Ship his radioactive butt anywhere that will take him. And if no one wants him, stick him in a barrel and store him at Rocky Flats.

Hey, did anyone notice that the ad on this page has a Bears Cutler jersey on it? Irony, thy name is DoubleClick.

  11. If this were anybody other that Marshall you might feel that he should have received a new contract. However; it’s not the time to bargain for more when you’ve had the problems off the field he has. He’s hardly a marketable commodity. T.O.’s a drama queen – but at least he doesn’t fight with girls. He doesn’t seem to know how to control his personal life, and another suspension was bound to be around the corner.

The only question here will be; who the heck wants him?

  12. Jacob. It’s perfectly fine to ask to be compensated according to your value. But if you want that option then you should have negotiated that clause into the contract to begin with.

  13. I think the Broncos should stand pat… Tell him he has to earn a better contract in the upcoming season and if he wants to pout and hold out or tank his play he should sit for the rest of his current contract…

WAKE UP Brandon, you are your own worst enemy…
