The Lazy Days of Summer

It’s the off seasons that are roughest

I grew up in west Texas, where we had Two sports. Spring Football and Fall Football. Summers were for swimming pools and steaks on the grill. I’m one of those guys who looks forward to the football preview magazines and the start of training camp. Until then, pass me another Pepsi and the sun screen.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

It is that time of year, no OTA’s t read about and the Royals and Rockies are trying to climb back into a winning form, now we know they will break our collective hearts, but hope is all we have.

The sports channels are showing a lot of baseball highlights, free promotion for baseball, but they are killing the game in that we don’t have to watch the whole thing to see the best and find out who won.

It will never replace gong to a game with your family, but your dollar is being stretched in so many ways just to live.

It would be interesting to see attendance figures overall for baseball and with the cost of football going through the roof and the quality of the teams being what it is, this could be a revealing year in fan support.

that might go for college games as well. That is a bunch of pressure on players and coaches. In the meantime there are always bike rides, walks and maybe even the tour de France.

Better move on, strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Hmm, a steak on the grill sounds rather good, but I doubt if that would make for a humorous cartoon. But then again, a Texan and anything hot can be worth something to chuckle about 😉

  3. Im bored already, when I go home and there is nothing on tv except for reality shows. LAME!!! It will all be starting here again soon (I hope), good idea for the Colorado folks out there checking out this blog. On July 2nd go up to Blackhawk and support the state economy and have some fun playin Blackjack, Craps and, Roulette with the new limit of $100. I know times are tough be I have been saving a little bit to go up and gamble. Also be good to the waiters, slot attendants, bartenders and dealers. I was once a dealer and a slot attendant and I know what its like to have a bunch of folks that are winning or getting there money back and not giving a penny for the service you provided(with a smile). Enjoy the summer is here! Matty
