Augusta: One Giant Leap!

Uncategorized

It took the Good Ol’ Boys WAAAAAY too long to get around to this, but at least they finally installed ladies restrooms and invited the girls to join in the club. Not that I’d want to join a club that took them 75 some odd years to finally allow the ladies to wear a green jacket but progress comes as slow as a snails pace. Congrats to Condi who deserves great things. And to all the Ladies out there, drive for show, putt for dough!!!! Anything is Possible!

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

the earth stood still, the ground shook around Augusta and the river flowed backwards. Yes women are now allow at the worlds premier golf course. as they used to say, you’ve come a long way, baby.

I would not hold my breath waiting to see Condi playing a round on the course. The decision to let a woman in the club is a good thing. They were ignoring almost 51% of the population. While a lot of women play golf most can not afford the price of a round at Augusta. FOR that matter most men can not afford it either. but hey, its progress.

  2. I don’t get why this is such a big deal, one way or the other. They are a private club, and didn’t have to let in anyone they didn’t want to any more than a private all-boys or all-girls school would. While the decision they made is fine, I don’t feel like they had any moral obligation to make it.

  3. I am befuddled by one thing. As I understand it Condi Rick and one other women was accepted. I have just one question. How much golf will they be playing? Somehow inviting a women for membership who doesn’t play golf makes no sense to me.

Sorry I haven’t written lately. I was recovering from surgury. I had to have my gall bladder removed when it produced stones that clogged up some tubes including in my pancreas (forgive spelling).

    Be well everybody

    All the best

  5. I personally think this is a non story, reason being is that this is a private club, they are allowed to invite who they want.

Now here is the real question, does this allow men to join an all women’s club?? So now can men join the LPGA tour events? Why is it always one way and not both ways?

My point is basically I think there needs to be some separation in some areas, but not all. I don’t see anything wrong with an all women’s club or an all men’s club.
