Behold the Power of Super Bowl Hype

Uncategorized

If by chance we encountered an Alien Invasion on Super Bowl Media Day they would turn tail back to Planet Zeron and report “Sorry sir. There is no intelligent life on earth”. I’ve had the misfortune to attend several Super Bowl Media Days during my career with the Rocky. Media Day is a Great place for a cartoonist to be, but I can tell you beyond a doubt it is the stupidest day of the year. Stupid questions asked by stupid media types who never cover any other sporting event all year long. It’s like Barnum and Bailey, with a whole lotta clowns. it truly is an embarrassment to the human race.

  1. Dear Drew,

When I think of media day at the Super Bowl and it’s total stupidity I can’t help but remember the year (forgot when this happened) when two NFL players (I think one of them was Jack Youngblood) posed as legit reporters and began to ask the players some of the most idiotic and ludicrous questions possible. What was really funny however was the fact that the players actually answered the questions seriously and the legit reporters dutifully wrote down or otherwise recorded every word. Too bad You-Tube wasn’t around back then I could only imagine how many hits they would have gotten.

    All the best,

    Louis

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

you don’t have to be at media day to do stupid reporting. I just read Klis’s column and most of it was about clay matthews and his long hair.

stupid is as stupid does, I guess.

My son said it was really cold out there in Denver. schools are closed and everything. same here in the big O- although not quite as cold.

strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Can’t watch the ridiculus interviewing and I am a female and who does love the minutia, but the “If you were a tree, what would you be” ones are not only ridiculus, but boring as well. Why don’t reporters do some background research, act like they might have watched a game at some point in the season? Don’t even get me started! On a lighter note, the beach was beautiful, the weather was not rainy, good walks with a gentle ocean breeze, hey, there was even some sun! Today I am glad I am not back in Denver, the east wind that blows up the gorge here is not nearly as cold as the weather there right now. No snow to shovel or traverse, just wind and sun.

  4. Your right….but you love it ..we all love it….its hilarious and the games are generally fabulous ……as is your take on all of it…you must have so much fun coming up with this stuff….enjoy the game…and GO PACKERS ! pickled or not !!! 🙂
