1. Good Morning from Omaha,

   Wow, back to school, already. the teacher in the house, my lovely wife, has been back since Aug. 3rd. The kids started the 12th. I don’t remember, as a kid, school starting that early but my mind has too many memories to keep track of.

   I like the commercial for shredded mini wheats where the mini wheats treat the start of the school year as if it were January 1. “Happy School Year!!!!!” I have even attempted to write a back to school song to the tune of “ol’ langs eyen”( sp).

   I miss the kids all huslting around to get out of the house on timeand all the gossip we used to hear aorund the dinner table, but that is for another time.

   welcome back drew. remember, you don’t run to fight, pace yourself!

2. Dear Mr. Litton,

   I feel the same way as the mother but for a different reason. You see I like to spend a lot of my leisure time at the local rec center and use their pool. During summer I’m constantly having to watch out for kids who try “cannonballing” from the side of the pool who don’t seem to realize that I’m in the line of fire. Ahhhhh now I can swim in peace.

   On the sad side though I had to say goodbye to my youngest niece who is now a freshman at Colorado School of Mines. Her sister and cousin are also college students. Their growing up and its sad to not be as big a part of their lives as they use to be. I guess that’s their growing up and my growing old is all about.
