Bass Ackwards: Winning the AFC West

Losing your last three. Not exactly the way you want to win the AFC West, even if it is one of the weakest divisions in the NFL. And losing to Kyle Orton is even worse.  The Broncos have their work cut out for them as they face the Steelers in the first round of the playoffs. Talk about your Tebow miracles. It will take one and then some to beat the Steelers. So enjoy this week. It might be a short trip to the post season.

  1. Nothing like getting in the playoffs through the back door!!!!!! I cannot believe I had to root for the Chargers today – just so the Broncos could get into post-season play. Losing to the Chiefs hurt – simply because we lost to the Chiefs. Losing to Orton was like rubbing salt in the wound. He certainly was at an advantage, because he knows the Bronco playbook, and our defense. That is no excuse, though, for the way Denver played today. Losing Chris Kuper today was so painful to watch. The coaching staff is going to need to find away for the Broncos to beat 12-4 Pittsburgh next week. It isn’t going to be easy – that’s for sure.

Who would have thought at the beginning of this season, the Broncos would be in the playoffs at all – let alone with an 8-8 record? Granted, they played much better this season than they did the two or three seasons past.

Better charge up that defibrillator, Drew.

  2. To bad Orton couldn’t have played that well for the Broncos while he was here. Then again if he was here for that 6 game winning streak, I doubt that would have happened.

  3. Good Morning from Omaha,

wow! is the game over yet? got to cheer for the chiefs and tebow so I was a bit divided, but what a lousy game. The chiefs got the W but the bronco’s made the playoffs- so everyone should be happy. Yes the Bronco’s play the steelers next week. Yes the steelers are 12-4. Its going to take that team effort that got the bronco’s on the winning streak. Lets hope that the bronco’s, as a team, don’t sit around and wait for god to step in and make some magic. The magic came when they played hard together with a unity of purpose.

go bronco’s!!! the chiefs will be back next next year- hopefully without the injuries- and into the playoffs.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  4. Kyle Orton beating the Broncos; he must feel like getting dumped by a girl and then finding a much hotter one. Enjoy your new “boyfriend”, Denver.

  5. One of the most appropriate cartoons I have ever seen you draw and you have done many of them. At least the Broncos will not have to suffer through a long flight back when they lose next weekend.

  6. Gotta agree with Peg… rooting for the Chargers to beat the Raiders was distasteful, to say the least. I felt like taking a shower afterward.

Based on the part of the Broncos-Chiefs game I saw, it was really pathetic. Apparently, Kyle Orton is such a big jinx for the Broncos that they can’t win whenever he’s in the stadium, period.
