   People used to rush the courts/field after a big win. NU over OU, Duke over Wake Forest or North Carolina.

   there are a couple things to keep in mind. Basketball is spectator sport. You are there as a spectator. You pay your money and get a seat to watch the game. I guess its something they have seen on TV and they want to be a part of the story.

   and then there is always the second thing- its all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Eventually someone gets hurt or as has happened, someone says the wrong thing to the right guy and gets their lights turned out with a punch to the head.

   The fans blame the coach/player for hitting the fan when the fan really has no business on the court. You never really hear what the “fan” said to provoke such an incident but its always the player /coaches fault.

   Its the way it has become in this new century of enhanced sensibility.
