Groundhog day

One of my favorite days of the year! Old Punxsutawney Phil pops up to see just whose shadow he sees. These days it could totally be anybodies. I narrowed it to Bud Selig, Tiger Woods, and Josh McDaniels. I finally settled on Selig. He’s so much fun to draw.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

Spring can’t get here soon enough for me, phil or not.

we have had snow on the ground in Omaha since before christmas and still almost

5 inches left to melt. Everyones christmas decorations are still out, but not on.

They are buried in the now hard frozen snow. and the bike trail is still iced over but it

is better than the roads, where the curbs are starting to re appear.

The Royals signed rick Ankiel to play out field, why…. no one knows for sure.

He hits a blistering .231 and gets hurt when someone in the stands coughs.

Its going to be another LONG season for the boys in blue.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Not that I want to read about Mark McGwire for six months, but it would be better than the day in, day out Trailblazer, Ducks, and Beavers stuff. Oregon needs to know there is a whole world outside these borders. There are other sports (pro football), there are other teams (Broncos), it’s a good place to live and a beautiful state (not as beautiful as CO), but come on……..

As an aside, Gene, we had two inches of snow before Christmas, gridlocked the entire Portland metro area, and that should be it until next year. We can’t take our lights down because of the rain.

  3. GMFO,

Oh did I forget to mention we had 30″ of snow during the christmas storms. The five inches is what is left.

and since the middle of december we have had only 3 days when the temperature got over 30…

we are a hardy folk out here on the plains.

  4. Yes, you are! But if you lived here and it snowed the two inches, you wouldn’t leave your home. People here are so totally unprepared, inept, and unable to drive. The bicyclists probably are best at it here.
