Halloween Costume Ideas for 2011
I think I’ve drawn somewhere around 23, 24 years of these. this one is more national in scope.
Thanks to everyone on the great response to the latest Tebow cartoon. I know he was pretty awful for the first 3 and almost 4 quarters but he got the win. This week against Detroit might well be a different story.
A brief note on Postings:
I’ve kept the three day a week note in the header of the site, because I know I will post at least that many each week. Of course sometimes it will be more. I hope that works for everyone for now. I think the rss feed helps you know when I post.

Dear Drew,
Even though he’s no longer a player or a major force in sports, a Holloween sports costume cartoon just isn’t complete without the classic “Bill Hanzlik” nose.
Think of the “nose” as part of a Retro look.
All the best

Good Morning from Omaha,
how about a T.O. costume- with him left in a baby basket with a pacifier in his mouth at the door step of the NFL. He invited all 32 teams to watch him try out and no one showed up. Yes he is 38 and coming off knee surgery but with the dearth of receivers in the NFL you would think that someone might want to give him a look. NO ONE bothered. Maybe his me first attitude has finally caught up with him- or maybe it is father time.
Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

In case you missed it, Auburn was cleared by the NCAA of any infractions.
Here’s another: David Stern and Clay Bennett as thieves….because they stole the Supersonics from Seattle.
If you want to be an NBA player, just stay home. If you want to be an NBA owner, give all the kids outragous ammounts of candy, then ask them to give it back.
Gene,
I drew this cartoon on Monday so I was ahead of the Terrell workout. Instead I did a Terrell workout cartoon for the syndicate late last night. I’ll post it for Thursday. Great minds think alike. or in my case…a warped crazy mind though like you, Super Genius. Yay.
Michael. I just found out the USA beat the USSR in hockey. Let me get back to youon that Auburn development.
GMFO-
can’t hardly wait- it was beautiful in denver last weekend. took trail ridge up to the alpine visitor center went through estes wow was it nice. saw the ikea store- what did denver do to get such a big attraction. IT was a quick trip but it was a blast.our son and his wife were really great hosts. saw a lot of high school football varsity and jv, bear creek and columbine. that memorial in the park is so touching.
how about a mc coy/ enterprise reference for beaming up some intelligence in guiding t-bow through the first three quarters of the game so the heart attack special will not happen again, so soon.
You are the genius- I just free think without the filter to block out the bad ideas- who knows they may be good ones at times.

Drew,
There certainly are some Halloween costume-worthy characters from the world of sports this year, aren’t there? My favorite of your six-pack offering is the Manning-less Colts. (I have to learn not to take a drink and look at your cartoons at the same time. I almost blew water when I set my eyes on that one!) The local news here, last night, had film (from earlier in the day) of Brett Favre visiting the troops at Camp Shelby, MO, where our young men and women are preparing for their mission to Afghanistan. It was nice of him to do that. Something tells me, he won’t be playing professional football again, any time soon.
What is really frightening, is the possibility of Minnesota being without the Vikings next year. The government doesn’t want to use public monies to pay for a new stadium, and the Wilfs are strong-arming the Legislature on location. It would mean the loss of a 50 year-old franchise. First, it was the Minneapolis Lakers to Los Angeles, then the Minnesota Northstars to Dallas. We also lost our first professional soccer team years back. If you want to follow any of the press on the Vikings stadium issue, try http://www.startribune.com for the Minneapolis paper, and http://www.twincities.com for the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Thank goodness I’m a Bronco fan. 🙂
