Lakers Exit Painfully

Uncategorized

Ouch! That’s gotta hurt. Even Jack Nicholson had to wince in pain watching the Lakers being swept by the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. Mark Cuban gets the last laugh. It was ugly. Two Lakers were ejected but they secretly hoped they’d throw the whole team out. Phil Jackson has picked a sour note to end his career on. I actually thought though, it was in the NBA TV contract that it had to be Lakers vs. Celtics playing for the title every year until eternity. what did you think of the weekend in sports. Crazy? Wild? What’s that? You spent the weekend in the yard grilling and chilling. Good for you. Me too.

  1. As a matter of fact, I did spend time grilling this weekend. I never have been able to get into basketball as a spectator sport.

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

My sister in Dallas is beside herself. She has been a Mav fan forever and has my son with Mav-laria…. I know I did not see much t.v. this weekend. Heard there were two dummies in the nascar race that got into a fight when one driver left his car to attack the other but in the process left his car out of gear and it rolled into the retaining wall and was wrecked.

It was the first nice weekend we have had, Mothers day for the Wife and our almost 7 month old grandson came over for a visit. got the bike rides in, we went on some great walks, they don’t qualify as hikes, who could ask for anything more.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Since I live in Dallas, This was such a great victory for our Mavs. I would have never thought a group of Lakers would behave with such poor sportsmanship.

    GO MAVS

  4. Drew–

I think the Lakers deserved a boot to the rear for their unbelievably poor sportsmanship. I don’t watch the game, but I saw the so-called highlights on the news. Ugh.

  5. As a San Antonio Spurs fan, I was rather happy to see the Lakers get the boot in a sweep. We lost to a hungry eighth seed team (Memphis), but at least we didn’t get swept! I hate the Lakers the same way I hate the Raiders.

I would like to see Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd get rings. They have done the work to deserve them. However, the problem with that is that Mark Cuban is going to be insufferable. He’s already a pain in the posterior.

But given the Finals possibilities, I would rather root for any team other than Miami. LeBron lost my admiration when he pulled that “Decision” stunt last year. You want to go to another team, fine. But don’t burn your bridges the way he did.

  6. Perfect cartoon Drew!

I’ve always found it paradoxical that Phil Jackson, who is supposed to be this mild-mannered, Buddist-practicing, nice guy from Minnesota – has such an arrogant team – and that he, himself, has shown arrogance as well. The irony in all of this is that Mark Cuban isn’t exactly a wallflower when it comes to his personality. I’m happy for the Mavericks. They deserved to win their series against the Lakers.

I’m all over the Celtics. I’ve always enjoyed the team from Beantown. Rajon Rondo wins the courage, fortitude, and all-around Superman award for coming back after he dislocated his elbow this weekend. To steal a ball and execute such an incredible dunk, shows that the Celtics are not out of it. I just read an article that Rondo will play in game 4. I sure hope that the Celtics can stay strong, healthy, and play intelligent basketball, to beat the Heat.
