Lakers vs. Nuggets: The Police Report

Nuggets report stolen game.

The Nuggets had the Lakers right where they wanted them. Against the ropes, down for the count and they let ’em up just long enough to give ’em life. This puts the Nuggets in a pressure cooker on Thursday night. They know they have to get one back. It won’t be easy, but the Nuggets did show that the Lakers are in for a tussle. Thank goodness for the WWE afterall.

Great entries so far. I hope you guys have as much fun writing them as I do reading them. I can tell this week it’s going to be tough to pick a winner.

So, what do you all think of game one? Observations? Coaching advice? Kidnap Kobe? Let me know!

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

It was a great game. Yes the wrong team ended up with more points but there is always Thursday.

The Nuggets had a 16 game run. And there playoff success has been terrific. They are quite capable of beating the lakers on Thursday.

  2. What a great game, if all the games are like that one we are in for a unforgettable series. What I noticed was it looked like the Nuggets were having fun during the game and the Lakers looked worried and desperate. I don’t think we need to kidnap anybody yet except maybe Jack Nicholson. Thursday night will be the telling story, will the Lakers be the Lakers we saw last night or will they go back to being an inconsistent team. I do beleive the Nuggets will be ready.

  3. I am not in the least suprised to see that the Nuggets once again lose anothter game in L.A., I am was (and still am) sooooooo disappointed. I said it last night and I will say it in public now, same game-same results some things dont change. I know that it is a team effort to win games but someone tell me WHY WHY WHY is Anthony Carter in the game in the last thirty, fourty seconds of the fourth quarter. HE SUCKS! Now let me get back to team. You do not, let me repeat that again. You do not, trade baskets with the Lakers they will eat you alive in the fourth quarter every single time. I know that I should not get my hopes up so much any more, I am upset and probably should get over this one but something tells me that game two does not look so promising either. The Lakers will be ready because they know what they are up against now. I expect a double digit victory from LA the next game.

P.S. Keep letting Anthony Carter inbound the ball. Way-to-go!!

P.S.S I am now angery, I gotta go get back to crying in my breakfast.

  4. Lakers fan here – hell of a game last night. I give Denver credit for putting us on our heels but they lacked intensity in the 4th. The one image I remember is Melo tongue-wagging after a basket in the 4th like this game was in the bag. Gotta do it for 48 minutes, son. I think this series may go the distance, good luck to the Nuggs.

  5. I wish I could say that the Lakers won that game, but they didn’t. They didn’t steal away from the Nuggets. The Nuggets lost it. When you go 23-for-35 at the line and lose by 2, you’ve got no one to blame but yourself. Even away from that, it was a hell of a night for Billups to finally lose his hot hand. Granted, no one can keep it forever, but he missed several wide-open 3’s of the kind that he’s been making all playoffs.

And I absolutely agree with Matty G. Why was Carter out there in the last minute?
