Lane Kiffin Keeps ’em moving

The two minute warning: The amount of time before Lane Kiffin runs for the exit.

He and Nick Saban are quite the pair. Nothing like getting those frequent flyer miles, and a contract with the Mayflower Moving Company. It’s beyond reason why we put up with it all. Is winning REALLY that important. Of course Dan Hawkins is a whole other matter. And therein the hypocrisy lives for me. I’m one of those ones who though CU should have made the change. I hate being part of the problem, not part of the solution for the Lane Kiffin’s of the world.

  1. I’m normally with you Drew, but in the case I must go against you. Why shouldn’t coaches decide what is best for themselves? It may not completely be about winning. He played at Fresno State, so maybe part of the decision is wanting to be back in California because he enjoys it there?

Even if it is only about winning (nevermind mind past performance, even by USC, doesn’t guarantee furture results) why shouldn’t he be able to decide that for himself?

Your cartoons seem to talk about how there’s so much emphasis placed on sports, so even if he broke a contract why should anyone other than Tennesse school officials, current players/coaches, and already committed players be upset about it?

  2. GMFO,

It is long past the time when the NCAA should punish both the schools and THE COACHES involved in any violation of NCAA rules.

Lane was at USC during the time of the Reggie Bush travesty that is now being investigated with a lot of ramifications for penalties at the school. there were other mis dealings as well being looked into.

Mr Kiffen also created a lot of potential penalties for the University of Tennessee with all kinds of alleged recruiting violations.

Why should he not suffer some penalty for all the messes he supposedly created.

Instead he acts just like a child and walks away with a hearty “did I do that????”

I say make him stay in his Tennessee sandbox until all of the kitty litter material has been disposed of and then he can move on.

Instead he is being rewarded and leaves another school in shambles.

He is not the first and probably not the worst, but its time for the NCAA to start asking coaches for some accountability as well as the program.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene
