Life is a Balancing Act

Uncategorized

Life is indeed a balancing act. I’m just glad that is this time of non-stop campaign ads assaulting us each night on TV, there’s something out there to bring us some relief. Although I must admit, I haven’t caught the bug this year for the baseball playoffs, and I’m rarely up for that much of the NBA. But you get the idea. Football. Hockey, and lately, for me, even soccer. It’s all so much better than a campaign ad. I think if I have to see one more “my opponent is a lying weasel” commercial I think my head will explode. Because, after all, aren’t they all lying weasels?

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

We don’t have the hot campaign races here on the plains that you have out there. I am also tired of the ads and the charges. Tell me what you “want” to do, they never accomplish much anyway as they don’t have much senority anyway, and then go away and leave me and my wallet alone.

Sports are the sandbox of life and a great diversion. I have been so busy lately with my internship at a law office I haven’t had much time to do anything but read the scores and the synopsis.

Its a buffet in the world of sports with all thats going on.

OH, I forgot…I became a grandpa for the first time sunday morning. Our daughter, Jennifer and her husband Chris welcomed little Brendan Scott into the world. We are still on cloud 9. He is healthy and pink and has ten toes and ten fingers and and and…..you couldn’t ask for more.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best

  2. Gene,

Fantastic News! Congratulations! Let’s hear it for Brendan Scott everybody! Welcome to the world little guy. Honestly, it’s not always this crazy. And when it gets that way you have Grandpa and sports. It don’t get no better than that!

    Your Pal,

    Drew

  3. Gene, congratulations!!! Brendan Scott will be raised right as a loyal Broncos and Rockies fan, right? Don’t let him catch that KC bug.

    Enjoy your grandfatherhood!

  4. Drew, we a little comic relief from non-stop campaign ads assaulting / insulting us each night on TV. Many thanks. I wonder if your buddy Ed Stein is sharpening up his pencils, lots of materiel for him.

    Congrats Gene on your grandfatherhood.

  5. Mike-

If little brendan had been born during the husker-texas game, depending on who won his middle name would either have been BEVO or Herbie (Husker)- my daughter and her husband didn’t approve but as luck would have it, they didn’t have too. He was born sunday morning-AFTER the game so his middle name is still officially scott but he will always be my little bevo (his mom and dad don’t know this so keep it OUR secret!)

  6. I’m in Penn. right now, and I can relate to non-stop campaign ads, But that’s life in a Purple State (like Colorado). States without competitve campaigns usually means that one party runs just about everything, which also means their crazies win a lot more than they should.
