  1. So good, Drew! And, wow! Watching the game with Joe Collier! While we are thinking of people we would like to watch the game with, my pick would be Bobby Anderson or Floyd Little or Terrell Davis. Gene Wingo would be good, too. Alright, the three amigos. No, it would be Karl Mecklenberg! Wonder if i can get tickets to sit in the section that the alumnist sit in on the bring ’em all back day……..

  2. Very applicable ‘toon, Drew! But for me in a slightly different way (speaking of an outage)…..

(This reminds me of when they used to call the early ’80s Browns “The Cardiac Kids”!)

I swear, I was getting into this game more than any other this season; then at about the 2 minute warning, a THUNDERSTORM knocked our power out……of all the #%@&$ times!

Luckily I had enough power in my computer U.P.S. to power the TV for the end of the game. It was still SOOOOO gratifying to see that end! Whew! At least we won!

  3. Dear Drew,

This game should give people goosebumps. Just like last season when the defense cost us the game against Baltimore they almost did it again. Now granted Manning is great but unlike your cartoon years ago about Karl Mechlinburg playing every position on defense Payton can’t. If we don’t get to the Super Bowl my money would be that it was the defense that let us down. Not the offenst.

    All the best

  4. Good Morning from Omaha,

What a game. It was like the old Sooner teams with switzer telling his kids to go out and “hang half a hundred on ’em” and then go home.

Football has three phases offense, defense and special teams. It looked like both teams left the defense in the locker room and your game of EA sports came to life on your television set.

I kept decrying the lack of defense but I guess the rules have changed so much that the game has changed also. the defense, in an effort to not tackle low and hurt someones knees, are now trying to tackle up high around the shoulder pads. The running backs in the NFL are so strong they just carry the first and maybe the second tackler along for several yards.

the broncos will probably be undefeated going into november, and the Chiefs will also be undefeated going into their game with the Bronco’s.

Its going to be a very good game but until then the “orange mush” defense had best get there act together.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene
