March Madness is Alive!

Uncategorized

Thanks to everyone for helping the C.U. cartoon to go “viral”. It has been getting huge response, so much so that I left it up all day.

Great comments the last few days. forgive me for not getting to them. I have had my nose buried in income taxes. Yech. I’ll still try to get to your comments when I can. I want to answer all of them but it sometimes is a bit crazy juggling so many different deadlines. Your comments are always so awesome. I hope there are times you won’t mind if my schedule gets crazy and I sit back and just take them all in. Like a great sports talk show.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

OK I have succumbed to march madness.., the family bracket is up on yahoo and the trash talking has begun already. Like a lemming I am following duke over the cliff to #1. The curse will probably continue and like Kansas getting beat in the first round by teams whose names begin with the letter “B” the blue devils will probably trip over some at large team whose biggest win was against east overshoe state school for the insane.

Drew, sometimes this truck just drives itself while you are busy creating more hilarity and thought provoking cartoons. As the audience for your work grows its going to be a challenge to keep feeding this beast you have created…but it is probably going to be fun to try!

Oh and I have Jimmer and BYU going into the final 4!

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Dear Drew,

Feeling calmer today. Not as riled up as I was the last two days.

There is a comic strip called “Tank McNamara” that did a strip that summed up March Madness pretty well.In the first panel Tank is listening to a fellow newscaster as an grandmother type comes through the door. The co-worker said,”There she is. The women who runs the NCAA office pool. Of course the pool just has a prize of $64 dollars…….”

In the 2nd panel a couple of mafia type thugs follow the grandmotherly women as the co-worker says,”…..but she takes it VERY seriously.”

Many people will cheer for the Dukes, Kansas’s, and other #1’s. Personally I’ll be cheering for Old Dominion to do well. My love for this team goes back to my day’s in the U.S. Navy when for 3+ years i was stationed in Norfolk VA. My original love for Old Dominion had nothing to do with the men’s basketball team but the Lady Monarch’s who were annual contender’s then. But even there success wasn’t the reason I was such a fan. To tell the truth I was a Lady Monarch fan because of Nancy Lieberman and Ann Donovan. I wasn’t just a fan. I wasn’t just a fan. i had a major crush on both players (I was only a year or two older than both of them) They were beautiful, sexy, played basketball well, and my crush on both of them was the fact that both ladies had incredible butts. I would get the tickets as close to the Lady Monarch bench as I could not only to get a great view of the game to enjoy watch them standing up or sitting down on the bench. I saw Ms. Liberberman when she played in the WNBA. To me she is still a hottie. Haven’t seen Ms. Donovan. I hope father time and mother nature have continued to be good to her as well.

Anyway that is the reason I still follow ODU basketball. No I doubt they’ll get very far but every year they seem to be in the fight for the sweet 16 which works for me.

    Let my madness begin.

    All the best

    Louis

  3. Did you guys realize that there is spring training baseball? I’m just saying……….

  4. Sherri, If it’s a choice Thursday between a 12-seed upsetting a 5-seed or a spilt-squad snoozer between the Royals and Mariners, then it’s not a choice at all.

  5. I see your point, Badger, but I would probably still choose the baseball………..One of my coworkers just left for the weekend to watch this thing, wow!
