Upsets

Well, there goes the brackets. It only takes a day to to unleash the wrecking ball on office pools throughout the country. It’s one of the reasons that the tourney is so terrific. You just never know what you’re going to get.

For me, it was tough watching UTEP get blown out. I grew up down the street from Don Haskins who coached UTEP to multiple NCAA tournament wins. One very historic one in fact. In 1966 TWC (the school changed its name in ’67) beat Kentucky to win the National Championship. They even made a movie out of it called Glory Road. So I’m ready for football season.

And I’ll gladly embrace the start of baseball. Especially with the blizzard out the window.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

I got caught in the upset tide as well. BYU, ODU, Murray STate?

My brother accused me of trying to lose in our bracket contest.

what little I hear on espn was the basis for my picks. things like Montana is a good team with a lot of potential and no publicity yada yada yada. Oh well its just one side of the bracket. and only one of my final 4 has been eliminated, curse you georgetown!

I don’t have to watch the games just check my bracket because the sponsor does all the work on who wins and loses.

whitlock in the KC paper seems to think that UNI can beat KU on saturday. Its a fairly well thought out column.

Strive for excellence, noting but your best.

    Gene
