Defense. it always seems to begin and end with defense. Sundays playoff mathcups should be really great. Bears-Packers in the early game. I’m not sure how to pick this one. I like Aaron Rodgers as the Packers quarterback, but I’ll say Bears because their at home. In the later game, Steelers vs Jets I say Pittsburgh because Roethlisberger has been there. In any case I’ll be drawing like crazy for Mondays ESPN.com commentary section, with, perhaps, multiple cartoons to choose from. Or multiple panel ones. Or some such cartoon extravaganza. So please stay tooned for Mondays stuff!

  1. Dear Drew,

In my lifetime during the good times and bad Chicago was forever known for it’s defense. From the day’s of Dick Butkus to the 46 and these days with Urlacher (forgive spelling) and company. This traditionally has kept the team in games especially during the era’s of so-so offenses.

The advantages of such a defense is especially important during games outside in the cold. Playing against a physical team like Chicago every hit on the Packers will feel like they got run over by a truck. Now I did play defense in junior high school (2nd string) and in games that were cold you could see how sometimes if you hit a player extra hard it shook them up and they would do small things, sometimes subtle things so they would take such a bone-jarring hit again. Yes to a point these players are professionals and it would take more to rattle them into a shake up but they are still human.

Should be two great games today.

    All the best.

  2. Dear Drew,

As I write this it’s 14-0 Green Bay. However I find myself still pulling for Chicago in this game. Mostly because I’d love to have this mental image of Jay Cutler looking at a picture of Josh McDaniel and having the last laugh, or giving the picture a raspberry/Bronx cheer since he would indeed have proven Josh wrong.

    all the best

    Louis
