NFL Draft: Hurry Up Already

Just call me a bit crazy, but I can hardly wait for the draft. I don’t know why. Most of the picks never pan out. But there’s just something about the idea of being able to make your team better, picking a Tom Brady or Terrell Davis in later rounds that’s fun. And I love the whole free agent thing too. Anybody else look forward to draft day like I do ? Or some other event you can’t wait til it starts? Here’s the poll. You can choose more than one!

Which Sporting Event do you most look forward to?

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

I am truly the pathetic one…when I get bored I find myself watching the combine and then taking a nap only to awaken to loud music and nfl update. and they have moved the draft to prime time on a thursday night.

    get out the nacho’s!

I have never gotten into basketball even back in my youth with cousey and havlicek. Even with NCAA I will tune in to catch any upsets but life goes on without it.

When the weather breaks, and that could be soon, I will out and about doing anything but sitting inside.

Its going to be a beautiful day in Omaha.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. My wife thinks I am crazy. I sit down each year to enter my time off requests from work. Family vacations, individual trips, hunting season, kids spring break, nfl draft………….

  3. I am impatient to see who the Broncos draft, will watch the draft, but not really a plan my life around it event. Opening Day is a close second to start of NFL season. World Series third, hockey playoffs next, not on the list.

  4. This poll is fun. I never knew how it skewed until today. I didn’t realize how much more people like Opening Day than the World Series for example. Fascinating.

  5. Opening Day is the harbinger of spring and summer. In my mind it is a beautiful, non cloudy, bright spring day. Smell of leather gloves, the sound of wood bats bashing balls, with a patina of testerone (natural)hanging in the air. World Series comes in November, beginning of cold damp weather at Yankee Stadium. Or snow in the Rockies.

  6. Love the Toon! =) I love the draft, and the first day of football season too. I would look forward to the Super Bowl more if I thought Denver had a good chance of making it more often… Keep up the good work Drew! =)
