NFL: Not So Free Agency

No “Free” Agents.

Clearly the economy is making a difference in the NFL free agency markets. As owners prepare themselves for the 2011 deadline to complete the new CBA agreement with the NFLPA or choose a lockout instead, no one will admit it, but the spending is staying tight so far. I’m still of the school of thought that the Broncos are dealing with the same financial mess we all are. Maybe even more. Anyway I thought this reference to Goldman Sachs seemed appropriate.

The Makeover is Over

Yeah! I think the final results were worth it. I just hope I didn’t lose too many readers in the process. I’ll always be trying to find ways to make it as fun a site to visit and come back to as possible. Besides the new header and a swatch of gray behind the cartoons ( I think they stand out better) the thing that most excites me are the new Blogroll links. I’ve kept it almost all sports with some fun blogs to visit both regionally and nationally. If you know of a great sports blog that’s not on the list be sure to pass it along. I also made the categories more fun and easy to get to. Feel free to tip the Blog Monster if you like the changes. He’d really like that. (Needs Hot Dogs)

George Karl Card

Maybe I was too late with putting it up but I was hoping to get a few more comments from you to Coach Karl before I send the link to the Nuggets. If you’ve added your get well wishes, Thanks. If you haven’t please, please do.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

It seems the owners are all tightening their belts and placing their bets on the CBA. If I am right there really is no salary cap this year in the NFL *( it might be 2011). The people who make decisions like Xander and the chiefs pioli are being very cautious which might mean the value is not there in the FA players.

They are gong to try to do it on the cheap by drafting young college kids and letting them mature in their systems rather than the FA that carry a lot of baggage.

The chiefs are not jumping into the FA pool all that quickly either.

The bears might have made a mistake with Julius Peppers although with Cutler on the field and JP on the sidelines he might be able to catch a couple of errant passes from Jay.

Most of the FA don’t have a lot of name recognition but are good day to day player who do their jobs to the utmost of Their ability.

    Who knows?

Love the new header but gray and orange? It catches your eye.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best

    Gene
