Not so Super in Chicago

Uncategorized

I love doing these kinds of cartoons. Combining the tough week of weather that Chicago had, with their hatred of the Packers and the Bears loss on the playoffs it’s really the perfect harmony of topics to morph into one fun cartoon. This one is featured in Saturdays Chicago Tribune sports section and on their website in the Smack section of the sports page.

I will be drawing of ESPN.com for Monday morning. Kurt Snibbe will be drawing the game from the Packers point of view. I’ll be drawing the game from the Steelers point of view. It should be great fun. See ya Monday!

I have a question for all of you here. do you find the images (the cartoons) are too small on the site? I’m wondering if this layout is a little sidebar heavy? What do you think?

  1. Good morning from Omaha,

you just can’t leave poor little chicago alone- can you?

Its always been known as the second city and if that were not bad enough the home of those “lovable losers” the cubs- what is it some people say- second place is the first loser! talk about having a complex and then it snows and all over the world people are talking about all the cars that were snowed in on Michigan ave….

Chicago can’t catch a break- even Mrs. O’Leary’s cow had the right idea- burn it down and start over, but as they say there’s always next year!

Saw some previews of the commercials that are scheduled for the super bowl- some are really great- VW has a couple that will charm you into buying their cars- and Budweiser has one featuring the clydesdales as the good guys in a clint eastwood style western.

looking forward to your takes on the game and the commercials.

I think the size of the toons on your sight is about right- but as we get older our vision tends to ask us to read bigger print before we have to put on the bi-focals!

    Have a great weekend.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene

  2. Drew, my first thought upon seeing this cartoon was ‘where are Calvin and Hobbes?’. I look forward the your Sooper Game cartoons.

  3. Cartoons look good this size, and the color scheme is laidback enough to set them off well, even the b&w ones. Why do I appear to be writing in boldface? Well, even that is good design – My comments SHOULD stand out!

  4. How do you find your cartoon’s at the Chicago Tribune’s website? I’ve tried searching the sports section and searching “Drew Litton”, but no luck…. ?
