Rockies at the Break and Viva Espana on ESPN

Uncategorized

Wow. What a rally by the Rockies in the last few weeks to come on strong in the division before the break. I’d love to see them get aggressive and get a little help to get them over the hump in the second half, but regardless, I think the rest of the Rockies season will give us a little something to talk about around here besides the upcoming Broncos season.

Oh and BTW I have another World Cup cartoon over on ESPN.com. Feel free to leave some comments there or retweet it even. It helps.

  1. Dear Mr. Litton,

Great summary of the Rockies so far this season. I just hope we can make it through the season without getting too dizzy.

    All the best

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

NO doubt the Rox are on a roll. Just one game out and they had a chance to tie the Padres for 1st in the division. OUr son has climbed out of the pit of being a fan of the Royals and is now singing the praises of the Rockies. How can he not. Good team, great ball park and they win.

In KC the Royals never seem to be able to put it all together. Thank goodness the all star break is here. the rox really are doing well. the Royals, not so much.

The Royals are pointing to 2013 to be competitive while the Rox just keep rolling along competitive every year. Do you believe that…trying to sell tickets for a team that won’t be very competitive for another three years. Now thats a marketing job.

    Man I can’t wait til 2013 for a Rockies-Royals world series.

Yeah right. Don’t hold your breath. 2013, that is 3 (three) years from now. I’lll be, well, I’ll be closer to 60 than to 55. 2013….long term plan??

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. The difference in the season halves are unique to baseball. Other sports have All-Star breaks, sure, but pennant races, MVP candidacies, and legendary collapses start here. The second half is more like a second chance.

Except for my Orioles. We were eliminated in May.

And glad you liked the Cup, Drew. You got to see Spain get their first title without diving or playing thug ball. Go check out the Rapids, and stand in the North End. You’ll love it.

  4. Ah Drew, you show a stair case leading up to the 2010 season but you failed to show where we or the Rockies will get off on the 2010 season. Is this a prediction of the demise of the Rockies in the 2nd half or are you saying that the Rockies shall finish the ‘ride’ this year? 😉
