Serena Williams: Making Noise

Noise. Somewhere in the last few weeks we have become a loud, insensitive bunch of loons. From Sarena Williams to Kanye West to Joe Wilson (don’t get me started about that one) we’ve grown rude and disrespectful. I’d love to see the whole world follow one rule. K.I.S.S. Keep it Shut Stupid.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

Joe Wilson, kanye and now serena. they all apologize when they learn that their actions and temper tantrums are going to hit them in the pocket book. welcome to the real world, and not the pampered and protected life of politics, music and sports.

strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. I almost always have a problem with coaches/players arguing in sports. However I have no problem with Serena’s. Her outburst was very, very quick and then she tried to get on with the game. The lines person took issue with that, went to the center line judge and then it blew up from there. Still, in getting upset she was taking the chance that she would lost the point.

Arguing a call, whatever, is fine provided that it’s short, isn’t excesive (subjective term I know), and isn’t trying to show up the ump/official.

Regardless Serena’s outburst was absolutely nothing compared to any of the ones you’d see from NFL, NBA, or MLB games. I admire the way she handled it, in fact considering she lost the match that way she handled it extremely well; she just took her stuff and walked off the court without making a further scene.

  3. Though I agree with the cartoon, artistically, it was not a very good likeness of Serena Williams.

A cartoon I would like to see: Taylor Swift going upside Kanye West’s head with the VMA award.
